Intriguing investigation puzzle game Hillthorn gets a new gameplay trailer at the Future Games Show at Gamescom, and it's coming to Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms.
Developed by Fool Moon and published by Raw Fury, Hillthorn is a sinister puzzle game where your entire investigation is restricted to Clue cards. There's no dialogue and you've got to use your detective wits to figure out what happened to a missing child from the eponymous secluded community.
Cards can be investigated, explored, and even communicated with to learn more and reveal other cards. You can even combine cards, giving the whole game a point-and-click game feel. People of interest, physical evidence, events, locations, and plenty more appear on these cards, helping you unravel the secrets of Mount Hillthorn.
So, there's a mountain of secrets to unravel, but your time is limited. That means you can't pull at every thread and you need to use your time wisely, learning as much as you can with what you've got. The game has multiple endings too, and it sounds like there's a system to let you revisit leads you didn't touch before, using your knowledge to build a picture of the entire case.
