Knowing how to work your way up the Pokemon Champions ranked tiers is one of the most important parts of the game - it is a game about battling, after all. Unfortunately, it's not that clear how much work it takes to become a champion, so I've detailed how many ranked tiers there are, and how to get through them right here.
In order to work your way through these Pokemon Champions ranks, you're going to need the very best Pokemon in Pokemon Champions, so check out our separate guide for that, which will be live shortly.
All Pokemon Champions ranks
There are six tiers to work through in Pokemon Champions Ranked mode, and we know what five of those are so far. Mostly named after Pokeball types, the Pokemon Champions ranks as follows:
- Poke Ball Tier
- Great Ball Tier
- Ultra Ball Tier
- Master Ball Tier
- Unconfirmed Tier
- Champion Tier
We would estimate that the fifth tier is perhaps names Premier Ball or Beast Ball Tier, but we'll confirm that once we get there!
Article continues belowEach Tier has four ranks, working up from 4 to 1. This means that you start on Poke Ball Tier, Rank 4, and are promoted to Great Ball Tier, Rank 4 upon winning Poke Ball Tier, Rank 1, and so on. Each rank itself requires three wins, but each loss will set you back, so completing each Tier requires 12 wins with no losses. With that in mind, reaching Champion Tier requires at least 60 wins.
Pokemon Champions Ranked Battle Seasons
You only have a limited time to reach Champion Tier, as Ranked Battles operate on a seasonal basis, and your progress is reset to Poke Ball Tier, Rank 4 at the start of each one. Based on Season M-1, these seasons last a little over a month.

After studying Music and Lifestyle journalism and writing a column for a stylish lifestyle magazine in her hometown of Brighton, Danielle finally found her feet writing about videogames for WePC in 2021. She then honed her guides writing skills at PCGamesN between 2022 and 2026, when she took those skills to GamesRadar as a Guides Writer. Danielle's guides are a safe space - she definitely got stuck before you did, which is why she's perfect for the job. When she's not replaying the Silent Hill games or a more up-to-date single-player horror game, you'll find her fighting for her life in Dead by Daylight, tending to a garden in Stardew Valley, or doing both in Minecraft.
