Sci-fi narrative-driven base-building game Star Trek: Outposts Unknown's is releasing on October 20, just announced at this year's Future Games Show at Gamescom.
After getting revealed only back in June, the first base-building game to be set in the Star Trek universe is set to launch in just a couple of months. Taking place in the 23rd Century, the same era as the Star Trek: Stange New Worlds television show, the game puts you in command of your own crew venturing across the X'Lehari System.

The first-ever citybuilder set in the Star Trek universe with a completely original Star Trek story that runs in parallel to Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
There's obviously lots of research to be done on these unknown worlds, so you need to build outposts for your crew on the planets you land on. You get to expand your bases over time too thanks to the tech and building trees you can progress through, unlocking new improvements.
You also need to assign tasks to your crew to explore the surface and conduct mission-critical research, also developing their skills to help them survive varying conditions and new threats – their spirits and expertise will be tested in these harsh locales.
But you're not the only ones out there as you'll also encounter a mysterious cosmic force that threatens all life in the system, including a new ally – a civilization on the brink of a catastrophic collapse.
