Dungeons & Dragons: Long Rest Tavern promises a more relaxing set of dice rolls than Baldur's Gate 3 ever could
If your favorite part of Baldur's Gate 3 is the camp scenes (no, not those camp scenes), you can keep the camaraderie flowing with Dungeons & Dragons: Long Rest Tavern, which was just shown off at the Future Games Show at Gamescom.
The trailer kicks off with a cute animation showing your humble innkeeper getting their tavern ready for customers, before opening the door to food, drink, and most importantly a regular supply of gold pieces making their way into your coffers. As the opening wraps, a mysterious figure arrives at the door, but they're simply here to help keep the party going.
From there, we get a proper look at gameplay. Starting with the kind of detailed building and decorating that should appeal to even the most die-hard fan of The Sims, it quickly moves on to running your tavern from day to day.
That involves keeping your clientele happy, hiring staff to help you manage the bar, and coming up with new recipes, brewing new ales and conjuring mouthwatering dishes away from the eyes of the customers. And this being a Dungeons & Dragons game, there's sure to be a few random encounters and plenty of dice-rolling to be done. You might even meet a few familiar faces as they come in to wet their whistles - Baldur's Gate 3 fans will certainly recognize at least one patron and their miniature giant space hamster.
Dungeons & Dragons: Long Rest Tavern doesn't have an exact release date yet, but it is heading to PC via Steam in early 2027, so you won't have too long to wait to kick back and refill your HP.
