Lost Hellden channels talent from Final Fantasy XI, XII, Tactics and Valkyria Chronicles into its old school JRPG action

Lost Hellden revealed an all new look at its classic JRPG action in an exclusive Future Game Show trailer reveal. This hand painted take on an epic, story driven old school role playing game features a hit list of famous developers, and also confirmed a 2026 release with new publisher Kwalee.

Lost Hellden isn't just channelling the style of the old great Japanese RPGs, it features work from some of the biggest names in the genre. There's art from Takeshi Oga, for example, who worked on Final Fantasy XI, Gravity Rush and Siren. And there's also music from Final Fantasy XII, Final Fantasy Tactics and Valkyria Chronicles composer Hitoshi Sakimoto.

This sees Takeshi Oga's hand painted art and Hitoshi Sakimoto's epic music bring to life the planet Era, where all its inhabitants are bound to one of the seven deadly sins once they're born. As a result they have to fight the urges this association brings and those that resist can try to ascend to the Sacred Land of Hellden. Lost Hellden specifically follows Cyphel, a twin who has somehow escaped being bound to a sin, as they join up with seven other playable characters who are linked to a sin and need fight against this burden to define their fates.

To play your part in Cyphel and his party's destiny means mastering a hybrid ‘Strategic Action Battle System,’ which blends real-time and turn-based combat, while taking advantage of an in-depth job system and flexible build customisation. And, wrapping all the deep, strategic combat up, is a sweeping and mature story fully voiced in Japanese and English.

Lost Hellden will be coming to PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series X in 2026. Follow the developer Artisan Studio on X/Twitter or Discord for more updates.
