If you wanted to check out the undead action of Arizona Sunshine but don't have a VR headset, worry no longer, as the series is getting a remake for PC and consoles
Arizona Sunshine gets flattened out of VR
Acclaimed VR zombie shooter series Arizona Sunshine is getting a flat remake based on the story of Arizona Sunshine 2, as revealed at the Future Games Show Summer Showcase.
Made by series developers and publishers Vertigo Games – makers of Metro Awakening VR and Thief VR: Legacy of Shadows as well – this version of Arizona Sunshine is built for PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC, so pretty much every platform there is besides VR.
The survival, action, and shooter gameplay is all still there, remade for non-VR formats, but the story is based on the Arizona Sunshine 2 plot – a full story about a lone survivor of a zombie apocalypse as they wander the deserts of the Grand Canyon State in search of another human.
Thankfully, said survivor does eventually find a companion and it could be one of your chums playing because Arizona Sunshine is also built with co-op play in mind, including split-screen play. That means you'll get to fight your way through intense hordes of undead Freds and even use combat techniques new to the series, such as finishing moves. And that's not all, as the lone survivor also takes in a big attack dog called Buddy, who you even get to play as.
This new version of Arizona Sunshine will be launching on PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, so pretty much every platform there is besides VR. It hasn't got a release date of any kind just yet so get it on your Steam wishlist and follow the developers to stay in the know.
