FPS Soulslike inspired by Half-Life legend Guns of Eschaton shows off co-op gameplay in new trailer
Two genres collide in a unique setting, as FPS soulslike Guns of Eschaton shows off some of its co-op gameplay in a new trailer as part of the Future Games Show at Gamescom.
Set within an Old West-inspired world created by the legendary Vicktor Antonov, art director behind Half-Life 2, Dishonored, and Wolfenstein: The New Order, Guns of Eschaton brings the worlds of shooter and soulslike together. That means no chaotic spray-and-pray - in this game, every bullet matters, and every gun has a character of its own that you'll have to master if you want to succeed.
And succeeding will be difficult. Towering bosses will stand between you and survival. Drawn from the Western mythos, the most terrifying of those in the trailer is a mysterious masked horseman, but you'll face plenty more as you travel across the world of Guns of Eschaton.
Thankfully, you don't have to go it alone. While you can play Guns of Eschaton solo, you can also take a posse with you into its Old West, taking on the worst that this world has to throw at you - or becoming that for other players thanks to PvP. The trailer shows a few co-op clips, with your ally dodging around a herd of ghostly buffalo as you both fight for survival.
Guns of Eschaton doesn't have an exact release date just yet, but it's coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam later on in 2026, so you won't have too long to keep that trigger finger from getting too itchy.
