Deep Dish Dungeon is giving me Kings Field comedy co-op vibes and I'm here for it
Adventure with three friends through a deviously crafted dungeon full of puzzles and things trying to end you
Deep Dish Dungeon showed off an all-new gameplay trailer at the Future Games Show Spring Showcase Powered by HyperX, revealing more of its co-op adventuring. You and up to two friends can explore this carefully constructed metroidvania survival game on PC, full of crafting, mysteries, and things trying to kill you.
There's a hint of Fromsoft's King's Field here as you fight skeletons and investigate the cobweb strewn corridors of a carefully handcrafted dungeon. Core to the experience is your ability to make and upgrade your tools, and cook meals. Food here is important and affects your stats. So it's by finding or discovering new recipes that you'll progress abilities and boost your stats before you go out exploring again.
It means that surviving this carefully designed dungeon long enough to get anywhere is all about seeing what you can find and scavenge, and then trying to make it back to camp alive so you can use it to improve your hero to repeat the process - hoping to find some new corner or door explore deeper the next time you head out...
This isn't a game that opens up its secrets easily. You'll need to be patient and thorough to progress, as you solve puzzles and work out what you need to do to get further. And I haven't even got the various monsters you can see in the trailer - bats, skeletons, spiders (big spiders), poisonous snakes and more - all out to make life... fun, for the hopeful adventurer.
Which is why, while you can explore alone, things really come alive here when you play with friends and work together. From exploring and puzzle solving, to fighting, dying and screaming in panic when it all goes wrong - it's far more fun to share the moment. Those final moments.
