Check out a flaming hot mission tease for Firefighting Simulator: Ignite ahead of its gamescom reveal

Playable for the first time at Gamescom, Firefighting Simulator: Ignite showed off a new gameplay trailer on the Future Games Show, detailing a supercut of a full mission mission walkthrough you'll be able to watch after the show. This abridged version of real life hero roleplay sees you taking on an oil and grease fire burning down from the top floor of a mall. And if that sounds like your jam entirely then you can preorder the game now ahead of its September 9th release on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X.

This is a simulation focused on realistically modelling the challenges of large fires as you fight to rescue civilians from a range of dangers. That means dealing with threats like electric fires, flammable liquids, grease fires, backdrafts, flashovers, explosions and more. You'll need to master a range of real life firefighting techniques and equipment to extinguish the flames.

You'll be using techniques like making use of power saws to clear paths ahead, or to ventilate spaces to prevent fire spreading. You'll need to reduce air drafts, and select the proper extinguishing agents or water to put out fires, and cool down overheating areas before the fire spreads. All using realistic heat, water, and smoke simulation via the Unreal Engine 5 physics engine.

You'll also be using a range of authentic firefighting tools, like hoses, saws, Halligan tools, axes, and extinguishers, with equipment from leading U.S. firefighting brands, such as HAIX, Fire-Dex and STIHL. You'll also be tearing to the scene with sirens blaring in faithfully reproduced and licensed Rosenbauer America fire trucks, including the TP3 Pumper, Viper, 68 Roadrunner, and more.

As you can see from the trailer, getting people out of danger is a core part of your strategy as you take on each fire. Leading a squad you'll need to use the right tool to get victims out - leading the ones that can walk to safety and carry the unconscious with you. Fortunately, you'll have help, with either 4-player coop mode or an NPC crew in single player to back you up.

Pre-order the game and you can get the Fire Station Companion Pack as a pre-order bonus. That gets you Simi the dog for your Firestation and a vintage 1950s fire helmet. You can also get a year one season pass that adds access to multiple upcoming DLC packs including new content, missions and expansions, additional skins, cosmetics and more.
