How to fix the Black Ops 7 hueneme negev error in Call of Duty
Every year there's a new COD and a new wave of hueneme negev errors. Here's how to fix it
The Call of Duty hueneme negev error currently plaguing Black Ops 7 is an old problem that seems to go back years. It'll stop you getting into the game but despite it being an issue that seems to have been around for a long time and many COD games, there's no official fix. There are, however, several unofficial solutions you can use and I can vouch for having had it happen for two different Call of Duty games. Here's what I've learned and how to fix it.
Black Ops 7 Hueneme negev fixes
The Black Ops 7 hueneme negev error see can be fixed by a few methods, two of which have worked for me: using a hotspot connection and VPN. Work your way through this list of options and hopefully one of them should eventually clear the error:
- Power down your router and leave it for at least 30 seconds before turning it back on and trying to connect again. This should clear out and reset. your connection, which might clear our the error.
- Switch from a WiFi connection to ethernet or vice versa. Changing your connection can also clear any errors. Generally a wired connection is always best if possible.
- Use your phone as a hotspot to connect. If you have the option, turn on your phones hotspot and connect your PC or console to the game with that. Once the game is running and you're connected, deactivate the hotspot and COD should reconnect to your default connection, without the error. This has been the main solution for me over several Call of Duty Instalments.
- Use a VPN. Using a VPN can also bypass the hueneme negev error without physically changing your connection. We have a list of the best VPNs if you want to browse that, although I found Proton works just fine and is free for one device/connection at a time.
The lack of any official response to the Hueneme negev error in any of the Call of Duty games it has affected means it's hard to pin down exactly what's going on. However it seems to be something to do with IP addresses or DNS settings when the Activision servers detect more than one connection from the same location. Whatever the cause changing your connection in someway, like the options listed above, seems to bypass the error and, once logged in, you can usually go back to your usual way of getting online.
