The fallen hero
Once hailed as the hero of the people, the only general to come from a common background became notorious as a traitor after the assassination of the king. A move made to keep the monarch from signing a treaty with the Empire, its effect was to bring more war to the people. As the game begins, his whereabouts are unknown, but before too long Vaan and crew will meet up with him - and find out the truth behind his actions. Vaan blames him for his brother's death, so their first meeting is far from civil. But Basch is an honorable man... and is one of the most important pieces in Final Fantasy XII's story.
