FIFA 16 will feature women's national teams for the first time in franchise history, and its cover art will do the same. US Women's National Team forward Alex Morgan and Canadian Women's National Team captain Christine Sinclair will appear alongside Lionel Messi on their respective countries' cover art, EA Sports announced today.
Messi's non-negotiable - he will appear on the cover of all FIFA 16 boxes around the world - but it's still cool to see women representing their home countries on the box itself. Stephanie Catley from the Australian Women's National Team will also appear on the cover of her home version, flanking Messi along with another unannounced athlete.
FIFA 16 will include Women's National Teams from 12 countries in all, playable in the Kick Off, Offline Tournament, and Online Friendly game modes.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and was formerly a staff writer at GamesRadar+.
