It's that time of year again: FIFA 06, the latest instalment of EA's big-hitting footie franchise, is in stores and in at number one. And with Burnout Revenge at two, The Sims 2 Nightlife at six and Burnout Legends at seven, one might say that EA is the dominant force in the top 10 this week.
But fear not, there are some non-EA entries in the chart: Ubisoft's beautiful Xbox-only Far Cry Instincts enters at three; PC expansion pack Rome Total War: Barbarian Invasion settles at four; and Conflict Global Storm makes a rather trouble-free entry at five.
This year's Mortal Kombat offering, Shaolin Monks, enters at 10, while Nintendo's highly-rated Advance Wars Dual Strike for DS takes position 12.
Retro gaming with Sonic Gems Collection is the last new entry in the top 20, with a place at 15. And PSP sales of Rockstar's Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition push the mod-'em-up into 19th place from 27.
Nintendo's cutesy pups Nintendogs make their European DS debut this week, after a warm welcome in the US and Japan. While Peter Molyneux's highly anticipated god sim Black & White 2 arrives, and Brothers in Arms takes on its second campaign of the year in Earned in Blood.
