The Boys viewers think season 5's latest death features a huge plot hole: "Did the writers forget?"
There are some very mixed responses to the latest death on The Boys
The body count is increasing in The Boys season 5 as the latest episode said goodbye to another major character. We'll be discussing that in huge spoiler detail below so make sure you're up to date on The Boys season 5 episode 6 before reading on.
Black Noir 2 was the latest Supe to be dispatched. His conflict with The Deep had been building all season after the pair clashed over Stan Edgar. It seems that Adam Bourke's murder in episode five was the final straw for Noir who took out his payback on The Deep in the latest episode.
He punched a hole in the oil pipeline under the ocean that The Deep had been campaigning for as entirely safe. This resulted in the death of more than a billion fish and affected the sea-loving Supe deeply.
Article continues belowWhen Noir revealed to him that he was behind the incident, The Deep snapped, strangling him before stabbing him in the throat. This marked the end of the road for Black Noir 2, who, of course, replaced the original Black Noir after he was killed off.
Fans have been reacting to the latest shock death in the show – and it seems it's got a pretty mixed response. The biggest complaint seems to be that fans were left confused by a seeming plot hole. This all revolves around how Noir was thwarted by a simple knife when the Supe is both bulletproof and has the ability to fly.
"The storyline was pretty good too until the end," one wrote on Reddit. "His character literally had a line saying 'Did you know I can fly' and the writers forgot to have him fly back or up while he was being choked. All we needed was a proper fight between them."
A second agreed, adding: "Did the writers forget Black Noir has powers?" A third simply wrote: "Black Noir might've had the lamest death I've seen in a show."

Although, as another pointed out, it might be pretty tricky to fly when you're incapacitated. "Regarding Black Noir, we don't know how his flying works. Maybe he has to focus on it, which would be difficult while being strangled," they suggested. "I'm more bothered about a knife being able to kill him despite him being bulletproof."
Whatever the explanation, we're sad to see him go. Noir is the latest casualty in the final season of the show, following on from A-Train's surprise death in episode 1 and Firecracker's sharp demise at the end of episode 5. Both of those were at Homelander's hands, though, which makes us wonder if The Deep's rash decision might have some consequences from the leader of The Seven.
