Spider-Man: Brand New Day's trailer is under the microscope for seemingly removing a bunch of characters from one of its fight scenes.
The moment in question sees Tom Holland's Spider-Man flying towards a clutch of ninjas from The Hand.
But as has been pointed out on social media, there is not only a suspicious amount of empty space in the framing of the scene, the eyelines of several ninjas meet characters that just aren't there. See for yourself.

Of course, this isn't new territory for the wallcrawler. Spider-Man: No Way Home infamously removed both Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire's returning Spider-Men in its trailers, but forgetting to edit out the impact of one of the webheads kicking the Lizard.
So, who could be removed? There are some obvious candidates, namely Mark Ruffalo's Hulk (conspicuously absent from the first trailer), Sadie Sink's unnamed character, or – as some have suggested – Punisher in his War Machine armor from the comics. There's even the smallest of possibilities that Daredevil joins everyone's favorite neighborhood Spider-Man in his war against The Hand.
It remains to be seen whether Spider-Man is spinning a web of lies with its Brand New Day trailer, then. But we've had plenty of time to digest what we've seen.
The initial trailer launch featured a 24-hour buildup featuring fans across the world debuting segments of the teaser.

From there, the trailer's launch has provided plenty of theorycraft and speculation, not least of which the burning question about who Sadie Sink is playing in the MCU. There's also a recreation of an iconic comic book cover that might tip the Destin Daniel Cretton-directed movie's hand about which unlikely villain is in The Punisher's sights.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, and Mark Ruffalo, swings into cinemas on July 31.
