After One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda revealed that the answer to the anime (and manga)'s biggest mystery was now lying at the bottom of the ocean, fans have been mobilizing to try and find it.
Streamer iShowSpeed is no different – and he's "looking for 30-50 good men" to help him retrieve it, according to a post on Twitter.
The American streamer's international exploits have included a tour of southeast Asia, a visit to the annual cheese rolling competition in England, and becoming the honorary mayor of Lima, Peru. Could deep-sea diving be next?
Oda recently disclosed that he'd written down the answer to what the titular One Piece treasure is, but the piece of paper is now locked in a container and over 600 metres underwater. Fans believe it's somewhere around Japan's Sagami Bay, and there are plans in motion that involve commandeering a marine vessel from Japan's Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology to do some serious deep-sea diving. Easy.
The One Piece manga has been ongoing since 1999, with the anime adaptation currently approaching its 22nd season. A live-action version debuted on Netflix in 2023, and season 2 hit the streamer earlier this week.
Monkey D. Luffey and the Straw Hats are also hellbent on finding the One Piece, the ultimate treasure that will allow him to become King of the Pirates. However, the Straw Hats also don't know what the One Piece is, and it seems that we won't find out until the manga eventually comes to an end. Or iShowSpeed gets to the bottom of Sagami Bay, of course.
One Piece season 2 is now streaming on Netflix. For more on the show, check out our One Piece season 2 review, or take a look ahead to what's still to come in One Piece season 3.
