DS gets bigger in Japan

Thursday 3 August 2006
Nintendo has announced that sales of its dual-screen handheld, DS, have passed the 10 million mark in Japan.

The remarkable total has been achieved in just 20 months since release, which Nintendo claims sets a new record for console sales.

The launch of the smaller and sexier DS Lite is largely responsible for the continued high sales and, helped by its incredible popularity in Japan, DS has now sold over 20 million units worldwide.
