Cruise and Pegg. Pegg and Cruise. It’s official. Whichever way you say it, it still sounds like the best thing since some bright spark asked a certain Mr Willis how he looked in a vest.
Mission: Impossible 3, currently shooting under the aegis of Lost creator JJ Abrams, will see our very own Simon Pegg join up with the Cruiser for the third instalment of his ballistic action franchise.
Pegg has been signed to play an agent alongside Cruise’s spy-master Ethan Hunt, joining an already-bulging cast that also includes Philip Seymour Hoffman, Ving Rhames, Laurence Fishburne and Billy Crudup.
“I’ve been dying to work with Simon since I saw Shaun of the Dead,” says M:I-3 string-puller Abrams. “His comedic skill is remarkable; he’s able to be hysterically funny while always seeming 100 percent real, even when he’s killing zombies with vinyl records.” Makes you wonder what the Lost man has in mind for Pegg…
