Castiel will return in season nine of Supernatural … And not just as a guest star. Castiel actor Misha Collins has signed up to be a regular character once again, reports TVLine .
Collins will also direct one of the season nine episodes.
Angel Castiel was introduced at the beginning of season four and rapidly became a fan favourite, first achieving regular status with season five. He went back to be a recurring character from season six onwards, but will make his triumphant full time return with the 2013/14 season.
Expect much Tweetage from the Tweetastic Collins … Oh hang on, he’s started already: “I don't think the feathers to the offices campaign was what saved the angel, but it does look like I'm going to be a regular for season 9.”
