Update: Sony has confirmed that Vote to Play is coming for PS Plus subscribers on PS4, though it will be held at "regular intervals throughout the year" rather than every month. It also sounds like that discount for non-chosen games is a one-time thing, rather than a standard part of the promotion.
Original story: If you're ever disappointed by the free games selection on PS Plus, soon you'll have no one but yourself (and millions of other PS4 owners) to blame. Sony plans to let users vote to fill one of the PS4 Instant Game Collection's monthly slots, according to a promotional system video spotted by NeoGAF user El_Cinefilo.
Apparently the new feature, called Vote to Play, will allow users to choose among several titles each time (three were shown in the video). The vote breakdown will be displayed in real time, and you can change your selection up until polls close. After that, the winning game will be added to next month's Instant Game Collection and the others will be discounted for PS Plus members.
It seems Sony accidentally hit "publish" on the Vote to Play video a little too early, as the video's now offline and I can't find any other official references to it. The video does show Armello as one of the candidates, which is planned for release on PS4 in September, so voting may start as early as next month; August's free PS Plus games have already been laid out.
The video also indicates that Grow Home, the procedurally generated vine growing and climbing game from Ubisoft Reflections, is headed to PS4 after launching on PC in February.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and was formerly a staff writer at GamesRadar.
