Turns out Halo 5 online co-op will require Xbox Live Gold after all

I sense a great disturbance in the Halo fandom; as though millions of voices cried out in joy upon hearing that Halo 5 co-op would not require an Xbox Live Gold subscription … and were suddenly silenced. Well, there's a reason for that. Turns out that 343 Industries studio head Josh Holmes misspoke when he told Game Informer that even Xbox Live Silver members could experience online co-op play.

"I want to extend my sincere apologies to our fans, and to Game Informer, for this error and any confusion it has caused," Holmes wrote in a statement to the magazine. "That said, it is important to us that fans have the opportunity to play the full co-op campaign experience and we are doing this by providing a 14-day Xbox Live Gold trial with Halo 5: Guardians."

How do you say "womp womp" in Covenant?
