Dead Island: Epidemic is a free-to-play MOBA

Zombies and multiplayer online battle arenas are two great tastes that taste great together, if you ask Dead Island publisher Deep Silver. The Frankensteinian result of that train of thought is Dead Island: Epidemic, a a free-to-play PC MOBA with a few significant twists on the genre.

The twistiest? No more of this eternal struggle between Sentinel/Radiant/lower-left and Scourge/Dire/upper-right. Epidemic will see three teams of players fighting to survive in one match. Deep Silver didn't reveal much more about the game, but it said more details will be announced later this month at Gamescom. You can sign up for the newsletter on its official site.

Zombies may be the original creeps, but Epidemic will have to shine to distance itself from the growing horde of MOBA games. What do you think of its chances?
