Cannon Brawl mixes artillery gameplay with an RTS

Take the precision of the artillery gameplay in the Worms series, drop in some real-time strategy elements like base and tower building, and you get Cannon Brawl. We played the indie game's multiplayer mode, which pitted two players against each other in a 2D bombardment battle. With multiple hero classes, tower unit choices, and destructible environments, we had a blast trying each one out in the incredibly strategic, cartoony battles.

Players control a flying airship that acts as a cursor/pointer of sorts for building and managing your structures. Before you start a match you can choose between a variety of offensive and defensive towers you'll place on the map. These range from a standard cannon tower and a devastating laser emplacement to a shield-producing satellite dish that creates a projectile blocking shield. As you earn more cash from your gold mines, you can upgrade each of your towers a total of three times, which enhances the towers' abilities significantly. The goal is to beat through your opponent's defenses and destroy their home base before they destroy you.
