Battleship has released a first clip of footage from the film, with a look at an explodey action sequence in which the aliens begin to launch their attack on planet Earth.
The new clip shows the ocean-bound alien craft mutating in a very Transformerish fashion into a massive weapon, firing a number of seemingly sentient charges at the US coastline.
First to take a bit of a pounding is a US military base, who are clearly unprepared for the sudden onslaught. It doesn’t look as though it’s going to be a fair fight at all...

If you’re a fan of OTT, balls-to-the-wall mayhem, Battleship is certainly setting its stall out to claim your hard-earned cash. Dialogue doesn't seem to be a massive deal in the promotional push (apart from the obligatory, “Oh, shit...”), but then again, no one’s going to be watching this for the script.
