An expansion for the XBLA game Undertow is now available. The price is not 400 MS points as earlier reported. It's currently available for 200 MS points ($2.50). The Path of the Elect" expansion includes five campaign levels, a new alien race called the "Elect" and four multiplayer maps.

VGChartz reports that this week, Dreamcast shooter remake "Rez HD" broke all records we've had since the charts started. In just 3 days, it's already amassed $250,000 in sales, and beaten the the rest of the top-5 3 day debut games combined. Yes, it's that massive.

So what's next in store for Rez HD? Most likely alot more sales. Rez HD is well on it's way to eventually selling 500,000 units as projections would place this high of sales within it's first 18 months of sale.

Chessmaster LIVE also debuted rather strongly, despite selling in Rez HD's shadow. With almost 4,000 units sold, it's likely that a casual-selling chess game, such as CM Live could go on to do very well - even though it's at a $10 price point.

In other notable news, Undertow had a huge number of downloads activated this week. This should be the biggest week, with sales beginning to decend from now on. Expect about another 500,000 before it stops.

While Rez gets all of the fanfare, however, Metal Slug 3 finished it's first month of sale with 63,000 units. Since the charts started, this places it at #2 next to Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, with 88,000 units. However, that record won't last very long, as Rez HD should sell over 100,000 units it's first month.

The free XBOX Live Arcade game promised by Microsoft as compensation for the downtime has been announced. Undertow (normally 800 Microsoft Points) will be available to download from Wednesday 23rd January 2008 till Sunday 28th January 2008 for free.

Chair Entertainment has confirmed that the upcoming undersea battle title Undertow is set to release on Xbox Live Arcade on November 21st.

"[We're] taking next gen tech ¿ Unreal 3 and the power of the Xbox 360 ¿ and applying it to these more simple or even more old school game designs," he explained.

Following yesterday's news that Silicon Knights has filed a lawsuit against Epic Games, developer Chair has offered a statement in support of the Unreal Engine 3. The studio has licensed the use of Epic's engine for its upcoming underwater shooter Undertow, and is apparently quite happy with the middleware.

Today Chair Entertainment, an independent video game production company, announced that it has signed an exclusive deal with Epic Games for the Unreal Engine 3. Independent developers Chair Entertainment (former Advent Rising developers) have announced their latest original IP game, with underwater conquest action title Undertow for Xbox Live Arcade, due for release this summer.

Powered by Unreal Engine 3 and including a full 15-level single player campaign as well as up to 16 player online battles, Undertow gives players the choice of being one of four unique, upgradeable unit types -- from fast and agile to large and powerful -- and taking part in conquest-style battles.

Players will score points by killing enemies, accomplishing team goals, and taking check points, with those points being used to later upgrade unit abilities.
