Resident Evil 5's producer Masachika Kawata has revealed that Resident Evil 6 could be in development for up to eight years.
"We haven't decided whether we're going to make Resident Evil 6 yet. But if we do, it could take anywhere up to eight years, but hopefully only four."

"We obviously know that Resident Evil 5 is selling like hot cakes through the world, but GfK Institute permits us to discover more precisely about French sales of the software. Thus, we learn that 110,555 units of Resident Evil 5 have already been sold through the country, which represents the half of the overall number of available copies in France.
Without any surprise, the PS3 sells better with 62,040 units sold, front of the Xbox 360 with its 40,135 games. On PS3, it's about 5,000 collector editions that ended in the arms of bloody greedy gamers, while 3,200 gone to the 360. In overall, Resident Evil 5 generated €7.7 millions of benefits in France."

No surprise to see Resident Evil 5 blast into the top of the charts on both Xbox 360 and PS3. Killzone 2 hangs in there in second place with Tom Clancy's HAWX staying firm in second place in the Xbox 360 charts. Wii Fit is an unmovable object at the top of the Wii charts and Empire: Total War enjoys another week topping the PC charts for the UK sales ending March 14th.
