Capcom Unity: "To celebrate the release of Resident Evil 5 on Friday, March 13th, Capcom and our friends at GameStop are throwing a launch party! On the eve of the launch, Thursday the 12th, meet us at Union Square in San Francisco to usher in Resident Evil 5. The event kicks off at 8pm and ends at midnight when you will be able to pick up your game- in-between we'll have plenty going on to keep you busy. For starters, there will be a whole tent dedicated to the game where tons of kiosks will be set up and players will get a chance to get their hands on the game before grabbing it at midnight. You'll also have the chance to win prizes and giveaways, meet the development team including co-producers, Takeuchi-san and Kawata-san and hang out with the motion capture/voice actors that played Chris, Sheva and Josh. To top it all off there will be new game announcements, stage shows, and Resident Evil activities all through out the night."

Just yesterday, IGN posted their final review, claiming sentiments three times in the actual review such as "No Mercenaries online? Really?". While I could go on complaining about the lowered score because of it, the real issue is: how did they screw this up?
GOONL!NE: "Following up from an article we posted earlier, according to VG247, British gaming sites who are reviewing Resident Evil 5 are banned from reviewing a part in the game's third chapter in the game as well as not allowed to take photos or video of said part in the game.
Msxbox-World writes: "Can't be arsed to actually play Resident Evil 5? Well never fear as the Xploder cheat device will do all the hard work for you and unlock extra costumes, modes and anything else you don't have the time, skill or patience to unlock the way the game developers intended."
As with most multiplatform titles, Resident Evil 5 is now being advertised in the UK for Xbox 360 with no mention of the PS3 version.
VG247 has it on good authority that some British Resident Evil 5 reviewers have been specifically told to avoid writing about, taking video of, or image-grabbing the island section from the game's third chapter.
Capcom's Associate Product Marketing Manager, Matt Dahlgren has responded to Resident Evil 5 not releasing on the Wii by saying "It was made for the Xbox 360 and PS3. That being said, Nintendo Wii fans will be very happy very soon." So what could this surprise be? Resident Evil 5 made for the Wii? A remake? Only time will tell.
