A demo for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is now available to download from the XBOX Live Marketplace. The demo, which weighs in at 848.78MB, lets players "experience the ultimate team ¿ and mission-based online welfare, defined by the acclaimed Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory now set in the legendary QUAKE universe. Choose to play as the human Global Defense Force or the invading alien menace, the Strogg. Each side has distinct classes, vehicles and weapons to choose from, giving players countless ways to join the battle."
In order to celebrate the release of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars on Xbox 360, Microsoft is planning to arrange an array of events on Xbox live where players will get a chance to play with memebrs of ID software, Splash Damage, and Nerve software.

The folks over at Xbox360achievements.org have revealed the full achievement list for the upcoming game Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. The list contains 50 achievements for a grand total of 1000 points. Included in the list, you'll have to go through 4 campaigns on 3 difficulties apiece. Hopefully these stack, so if you play through on hard, you'll also unlock medium and easy. Otherwise, you'll have to play through 12 campaigns total. This is one of those times where everyone just turned around and went, "wait...where'd that game go?" It's Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, and while we heard a whole lot about this promising title late last year, it mysteriously dropped off the radar for a few months.
Activision has finally announced a release date for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. Both versions will be hitting retail stores on May 30th, 2008.

Activision's latest quarterly conference call has just been completed and as was the case three months ago during their last conference call, company executives did not mention the previously announced Xbox 360 and PS3 console ports of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars as being part of their upcoming release plans. The ports of the Splash Damage-id Software PC multiplayer shooter were announced a year ago by Activision and a playable version of the Xbox 360 port was shown at both E3 as well as QuakeCon in the summer of 2007.
Ahead of Activision's financial results next week, Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey has commended short-term revenue prospects, but commented that "emerging competition for some of [Activision's] core franchises, including Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk", may prove damaging for the company's long-term growth.

The game, which is in development by Splash Damage, pits the armies of Earth's Global Defense Force (GDF) against the invading alien Strogg in the multiplayer strategic shooter that transports players to the front lines of an epic new war for Earth.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars producer Neil Postlethwaite has announced on the community site that the upcoming game will feature in-game advertisement. The ad revenue is to help the developers to "provide a higher level of on-going support to the Enemy Territory: Quake Wars community than would have been possible otherwise," he said.
