The Battlefield Bad Company trophy patch is now available for download. Simply insert and launch the game disc and follow the on screen instructions. This patch adds quite a large selection of content including bug fixes and those all important Trophies. The update should also contain four new multiplayer maps as voted for by you, the community. Namely: Acta Non Verba, Par For The Course, Ghost Town and Crossing Over. Check out the official website for videos of the four new maps.

Sequels for Army of Two, Battlefield: Bad Company and Dead Space (News)

Ripten reports that Variety have recently interviewed EA games label president Frank Gibeau and Dead Space executive producer Glenn Schofield, who revealed that there are sequels in the works for some of EA's biggest games. Gibeau stated that there is a "sequel idea planned" for Army of Two and a Battlefield: Bad Company. We can only hope that the sequel for Army of Two is called "Army of TwoTwo (TuTu)". Also mentioned was that a sequel to Dead Space, EA's recently released horror shooter, was already in the works, and that ideas for a Dead Space movie were in the pipeline as well.

EA Unlocks 3 Battlefield: Bad Company Weapons for All (News)

EA is keeping interest high in its Battlefield: Bad Company game by adding new game modes (conquest) and announcing the addition of two new maps (Par for the Course and Acta Non Verba).

They have also unlocked three weapons previously only available through the Find All Five program.

All users can now enter the provided unlock codes to access the Recon kit QBU88, the Spec Ops kit Uzi and the Support Kits M60. The only gun from the FAF program remaining locked is the F2000; gamers have to link another Battlefield game to their EA profile in the Battlefield Veterans program to release that gun.

Electronic Arts always seem to get the sh!t@y end of the stick when being discussed in the gaming community. Not least because of their aggressive buyout of top developers such as Pandemic, Bullfrog and such like, but also the tendency for them to invest huge amounts of money in acquiring licenses only to produce a bunch of shovelware that sits atop the festive gaming charts year in year out.

As if that wasn't bad enough - EA are now beginning to attempt to 'strangle' the second hand games market.

The Battlefield: Bad Company team over at EA have came out with a statement which has notified gamers that they are listening to feedback and are aware of the current issues with the online portion of Bad Company.

The several issues are under-going fixes while others wont be looked at until the first several have been dealt with.

These include, but are not limited to:

Â¿ Clan support/private rooms/team chat
Â¿ Auto balancing on servers
Â¿ Continued support against stats exploits
Â¿ VOIP issue on PS3 (working with Sony on this)
Â¿ Squads might be split up when joining a server as a squad. This is due to team balancing in the games that are being joined, and usually resolves itself in round 2.

We are aware that some X360 players are having issues connecting to the Bad Company servers.

We've been monitoring stats non-stop and are working with several partners to locate any possible flashpoints and eradicate any hostiles we encounter.

Until we are ready to implement a permanent fix, a possible workaround is to turn off your console for approx. 20 minutes before turning it back on and connecting again.

The Battlefield Podcast will reach its 100th episode this Saturday, June 28th, 2008. To celebrate this event, the show will be streamed online at www.tuxmedia.tv/live beginning at 2pm PST and lasting for several hours.

While speaking to investors gathered for the William Blair & Company's 28th Annual Growth Stock Conference, Riccitiello was asked to estimate the Metacritic review scores for EA's upcoming titles.

"I always hate answering questions like this. It is a little bit like you're jinxing the play, you know - 'We expect the New York Times to love this play.'

"And you sort of feel a little bit like a twit getting out ahead of it because there's a certain cadre of journalists that would love to prove me wrong."

EA says it's "working around the clock" to fix the many errors that plagued the new Battlefield: Bad Company demo this weekend, having just sorted out the broken ranking system.

Virtual warmongers were left disappointed when the demo was hit with laggy servers and a completely broken ranking system as player rushed to get their team-based battling on.

The good news is the ranking should be up and running now. "The stats database has been reinforced and you should now see the correct stats both in-game and on the website," said developer DICE, confirming that it'll also release a patch tomorrow to further secure your hard-earned stats."

We've noticed that EU players sometimes end up on North American east coast servers and vice versa. During the maintenance the ping servers will be tuned in order to make sure you end up on the server with lowest ping.

We've increased the number of servers to cater for an amazing 50,000 players. In a couple of hours time we need to restart all servers to prepare for this and to decrease the lag and improve the experience on X360.

RESTART WILL OCCUR AT 4pm PDT / 7pm EDT / 01:00 CEST.

Planet Battlefield writes: "If you take a look over on the official Battlefield: Bad Company website you'll notice DICE have launched a brand new "My Soldier" page displaying player stats for the demo and eventually the full game. Once you login to your EA account you can link your Xbox gamertag or Playstation ID and within a couple minutes your stats will be displayed. A lot of information is shown even all the requirements for all those nifty trophies, wildcards, patches, and even multiplayer achievements.

One thing I never noticed on the BFBC site is that the pin on the smiley grenade in the left can be pulled. Try it out for yourself :-)"

Speaking to videogaming247, DICE producer Jamie Keen has said that the EA developer was taken aback by the fierce reaction to plans to charge for weapons in Battlefield: Bad Company, but that listening to the community is paramount for those working on the franchise.

"We were slightly surprised by the strength of the reaction," he said.

"Charged downloadable content is becoming more prevalent throughout gaming, but it's important for us to be able to react to people's wishes and desires. There was a very strong reaction to it.

"For a game like Battlefield, where we've had a very strong online presence, and traditionally we've had very strong communications with the community, it's important for us to be able to react to people. And yeah, we have to listen to people."

We are happy to announce that Conquest will see its inclusion in Battlefield: Bad Company post launch, available as a free download on both Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Beta feedback has shown that there is a great desire for Conquest mode in Battlefield: Bad Company, alongside the much appreciated Gold Rush mode, and when the full game is done the team in Stockholm will start working on Conquest. More details are to come on the release, so stay tuned!

In Conquest mode, the aim is to reduce the opposing team's tickets to zero. Killing an enemy soldier depletes one ticket per kill, whilst capturing control points on the map causes enemy tickets to count down. According to XboxFocus.com, It has been discovered that there is another way to still obtain BFBC Beta codes. Larry Hryb, gamertag: Major Nelson, posts at least one new code each day via the web based communication tool Twitter. The codes are given out in a first come first serve basis. Even though the Beta closes Monday, there still may be a chance to grab one.

Tipsters are telling Xbox 360 Fanboy that the Battlefield: Bad Company beta has not only leaked to online download sites but that it may also be playable via a burnt DVD-R, much like the demo for Guitar Hero III. The ability to clone the download of the beta and release it to other consoles also reminds Xbox 360 Fanboy of the Call of Duty 4 beta glitch which allowed gamers to use the account recovery feature to circumvent the barriers in place of people who hadn't been selected to participate in the closed test.

IGN writes: "After speaking with spokesperson for EA, IGN has learned a few more details on the intended pricing structure for the weapons in Battlefield: Bad Company. There has been some public outcry that EA is trying to "scam" customers as screens of the BF:BC Beta indicated that some weapons might have to be purchased off of Marketplace, thus giving some an advantage over the rest of the playing field.

Here's the real deal straight from the EA Spokesperson, "Battlefield: Bad Company will release five unique weapons free of charge through five different promotional programs prior to launch. EA will again make these weapons available to players free of charge after launch, in case anyone missed the pre-launch promotions."
