What is your new years gaming resolution?

It's been a really long year. There were things you promised yourself you would get done but they slid by the wayside. Maybe your backlog of games is getting a little fat and you want to work some of them out of there. Maybe you want to finally finish some super long game like Skyrim or Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag. Maybe you want to spend less time playing games and more time with your family.

What is your news years gaming resolution?

My gaming resolution this year is to clear out a substantial portion of my gaming backlog on Steam. It's a difficult task actually because the more games I go back and play the more games come out and get added to the list. It's a beautiful and hectic loop.

Let us know in the comments below what your new years gaming resolution is.

    1368 x 768 :p

I'd love to finally finish Dark Souls before the sequel comes out, but I just got GTA V for Christmas so that's probably a lost cause. Too many games to play... I guess that's a good problem to have!

My #1 New Year's Resolution is to stop buying from GAME (UK equivalent of Gamestop) after the way they dicked me around with my PS4 preorder and CONSTANTLY trying to get me to buy extra crap that I don't want/need. I made my final purchase with them just before new year's day but even that pained me to do so (it was only because their PS Vita bundles were almost £30 cheaper than anywhere else). Otherwise I'd love to catch up on my backlog. Problem is, all but a few of them are massive time sinks. Fire Emblem 3DS and Farcry 3 spring to mind but there are quite a few others (including all the monthly games that come with PS+). Oh, and try not to cry this time around when I eventually get round to playing Telltale's Walking Dead: Season 2

I will stop replaying Skyrim, I will stop replaying Skyrim, I will stop replaying Skyrim.... oh one more save won't hurt

LOL. for me it's: I will stop modding skyrim. I will stop modding skyrim. I will stop modding skyrim. Ah just one more player home right here... Such a pretty spot!

This year I have to play it smart with gamestop, they ripped me off so many times.

Buy no new console games until I clear out 90% of my backlog, which dates back to the PSXCube generation. Drop 50 pounds.

Really work on that backlog. Would be interesting to see GR staff answers to some of this question.

I just want to get caught up. The holidays just passed and I still haven't beat games I got Christmas 2012!

Living in a country that's not the US or Canada, i hope to save up enough money so that i can fly to Las Vegas for Evo 2014. I'm already half way there so wish me luck.
  • Timstertimster - January 6, 2014 6:01 p.m.

Yes indeed. North Anerica us really getting to be annoying. But so is... (too many to list).
  • Sjoeki - January 1, 2014 2:17 p.m.

My problem is that I can't wait. I buy a lot of games and if I'm looking forward to a game I will buy it as soon as it releases. I'm pretty much a console gamer only and that can cost a lot of money. Sure a lot of games are worth those 60/70 euro, but there are also enough that aren't. So, I'm going to try working on that. Restrain myself whenever the next intresting game is coming out.

Go to 1440p. And never go back. /r/pcmasterrace

  • BladedFalcon - January 1, 2014 10:47 a.m.

Lose weight, it's gotten to the cliche point in which all my pants really don't fit anymore :/ And of course, clear my backlog of games, maybe FINALLY play Deus Ex Human Revolution despite the fact it's been collecting dust in my desk for over 2 years now. Oh, and maybe mature and grow more as a person, that's something a manchild could always use more of.
  • TokenGamesRadarFurry - January 1, 2014 11:31 a.m.

Gotta say I'm in the same boat as you for that first point. Not huge by any means, but the last few months has not been kind to my waistline. Time to start jogging again, me thinks.
  • BladedFalcon - January 2, 2014 11:28 a.m.

Bah, and waste time doing something I hate (excercise) instead of doing stuff I like? NEVAH ...So starving myself to death it is :P (Doing wonders in my resolution of being less of a manchild, as can be evidenced!)
  • EdDeRs1 - January 2, 2014 10:34 a.m.

bah, who needs to "grow as a person" when you have Deus Ex? a game I also need to get around to finishing because Skyrim
  • BladedFalcon - January 2, 2014 11:26 a.m.

Lol yeah... It's just- I KNOW it's an awesome game and I KNOW I want to play it... I just have gotten used to wanting to play virtually everything else instead XD
