Did you crazy sons of bitches just drop a NUKE on POKEMON? Ok I approve. Call Nintendo, have this made. Or screw Nintendo call some Anime Gore company and have a rip off made XD

This article is still perfect more than a year on.

Aw man, GR leaked the plot of the Pokémen's first album! Hope catches alone.

GamesRadar, please make more of these "What Would Happen?" articles. This one was great, the Mario one was great, and I'm excited to see more.

Easily one of my favorite articles on the site. The artwork makes it all the much better

Jesus, that was Grim. It was like if Nolan had re-written Pokemon: The First Movie. Not that I'm complaining, mind. This was an absolutely brilliant read, and whoever did the art deserves a frigging medal. These gritty what-if scenarios, like the Bowser one from a few weeks back, are great. Please carry on with stuff like this, really good features.

I could see the Pokemon winning. Look at Tyrannitar: He's basically a giant tank. He could easily shrug off small arms fire and could probably lay waste to armored vehicles. And then you have Voltorb and Electrode suicide bombers, Wailords that could sink submarines or warships...hell the legendary birds could defeat fighters probably. I think the Pokemon have a huge advantage
  • C.King - December 22, 2012 12:14 p.m.

tyrannitar: he'd be weak to bullets actually since rock is weak to steel attacks, and he's 4x weak against fighting to any martial artist would do a number on em, you might be right about the armored vehicles though voltorb/electrode: since the ability damp makes it so they can't explode can't he douse em with a fire hose, if the explosion still isn't prevented they still should be easy to push back into their allies since a sphere may not have a firm grip on the ground. Wailords: i doubt they'd be a threat what so ever with their massive size making them ridiculously easy targets, we've made whales endangered with out even needing navy weapons, water pulses confusion effect may be a issue though on submarines, i'm not sure about surf, but his signature move water spout would be out of commission since i doubt he'd get the first hit in. legendary birds: i'd assume fighter jets would be steel/flying articuno would be the lesser threat and since ice's super effect would be nullified by steel(and make a good offensive vs on it) but should be prioritize as a target due to his mind reader move, since a fighter jet would be much much faster i think accuracy would be the winner here.

I was planning on illustrating a wailord/snorlax as the famous photograph from tiananmen square, but it never became relevant.

Seeing as all these series are getting reboots (tomb raider, Dark Knight, Spiderman) what a way this would be to get people noticing Pokemon again. Get Zack Snyder to direct, and lets see the mature side of pokemon.

well it appears that this may lead to the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series, as Pokemon live without humans and we come from "another world" AND there are human ruins in the game, so to me that says the Pokemon "world" are the continents they captured and perhaps MewTwo placed some Psychic net around the Pokemon world to keep humans out, and turned the odd human into a Pokemon every now and again (or were they Ditto!?!?!) to save it from a threat
  • marianthomas - December 19, 2012 4:13 p.m.

other than mewtwo and arceus every single pokemon has been manipulable to the end and that's only if you don't include the player.
  • Exiled Reaper - December 19, 2012 3:58 p.m.

Ditto would wreck everyone's day in a pokepocalypse. Anyway, very amusing article, I liked it.
  • BladedFalcon - December 19, 2012 12:14 p.m.

Pretty fun article! Really have been loving these "what if" kind of stories :D That being said... Kinda surprised no mention of Arceus (AKA God according to the games...) was made whatsoever... Then again, I suppose that if he did get involved, it would be no fun, because whichever side he picked would be the winner in a second XD
  • TheDudeFromNowhere - December 19, 2012 11:41 a.m.

If all Pokemon rebelled ... then the world of Pokemon would be so FUN. They can make a whole new franchise, where you are a survivor similar to Zombie-U. Then again, C.King makes a good point. Pokemon have lots of weaknesses. For example, a bucket of water on Charizard's tail flame would end his life...

i actually continued the debate of who would win the war at school with a classmate(he was on the pokemon's side). we decided to bring the topic to the debate team to help us with the dispute, borrowing their members to take a side and help us make our points(sadly we apparently don't have a debate team so i asked random student instead, so far 3 people think the pokemon would win while 2 are betting on humans).
  • FierceVoltage - December 20, 2012 12:40 p.m.

You mean a pokemon game where you play as a human during the war? And the pokemon are free and you are trying to survive? Or a game where you play as a pokemon during the war?
  • TheDudeFromNowhere - December 29, 2012 7:48 p.m.

I meant post war, as in humans lost, and you're a human being hunted by Pokemons. Thats actually pretty scary. Imagine a Jinx coming after you.
  • GameManiac - December 19, 2012 11:10 a.m.

And people say that Pokemon is just a kid's game...
