I was reading these feeling all high and mighty until the Bayonetta blunder. For shame. My personal contradiction would be ' complains about the price of a new game and it only lasting 10 hours, spends same amount of money on one night in the pub. More shame. Good article Hooters.

Then I guess it's a good thing most people had other reasons than the design to not touch DmC :D

God damn I have never understood some of these gripes. One point I would like to include in that "games too easy" is when people complain about a totally option easier mode that allows some people without as much skill or ability, to experience the same joy they do. I just have this vision of these people standing outside a theater and shouting in an angry manor about how "These handicap ramps are bullshit. I can walk up to my seat with ease, if these people want to pay to experience the same story I'm about to they should have to take the stairs like I did."

Sigh, it's a shame Bulletstorm didn't take off like it should have. That game was friggin awesome and offered an FPS experience that was unique and fun all on its own. I would love to see a sequel but I just don't see it happening. Maybe Microsoft can pick up the reigns and try again...

i hate when people say certain franchises need to change but when one of their favorites franchises change they freak out and act like it abandoned it's roots and core

We all have to be suspect to a few and there are still more broader ones outside the list. But we are all sensable people to acknowledge such that our angry little friend on the article couldnt :P My curse would be massive procrastination, i still havent touched my new 3DS XL and Link Between Worlds that got 2 months ago and i always tend to hype games up to their release dates. Also the various pictures just changing backgrounds with the same dude is frankly hilarious XD

    That's just bored craziness

My God. There is so much that gamers get mad about. They always say that graphics don't matter, and gameplay is most important, but they never mean it. I know I probably do that too. But I didn't even care about the Watch Dogs change in graphics. Why? Because I didn't care in the first place. The worst example of that is probably GTA San Andreas and GTA 5. Everyone says SA looked amazing, and than bagged on GTA 5 for having to many pixels.

You guys bring up the Dante thing in like every other blog. No one cares how much the editors at GR love the new game, the fans hate it and in the end no amount of bitching from you can change that. It could have been a blond tranny as dante and you guys would still have loved it because you never gave a flying fuck about the characters in the franchise. Not everyone is as mentally dead as that.

I cared about the characters and I still loved the reboot. I am unable whatsoever to comprehend the hate this DMC gets.

If this post was done satirically, it would look exactly the same.
  • EAC73 - May 29, 2014 8:53 a.m.

You are really not a fan if you hate the game.
  • Beoftw - May 29, 2014 10:57 a.m.

The game doesn't reflect the franchise or the story in any way. Maybe if the game actually resembled the old games either graphically or narratvely that logic would apply, but it doesn't. You people completely roll over the fact that the way dante looks is only icing on the cake. The problem people have is the way he is portrayed, the decisions he makes, and the twilight-esque plot and setting he is put in. He amounts to nothing more than a whiny little brat in the game and that is the main reason for the discontent. You are just focusing on the complaints about his looks to look down on the extremely warranted and justified criticism.

Right on. I've also noticed GR's tendencies when it comes to the unfortunate new DmC. Sadly, I've found out that no matter how many times you tell them that people dislike DmC for other reasons, they will still harp on about the design.

I honestly hate exclusives (even if I see their necessity) because I have to choose which system I buy based on what exclusives I will get. When people ask me why I bought the PS4 I say its because I love naughty dog games more than i do Halo, Gears of War and Bayonetta. Even though Bayonetta was one of my favorite games of all time I dont have the money to buy a Wii U in order to play it and there arent enough other games for the Wii U the interest me for me to buy it. So is life. WHY CANT WE ALL JUST GET ALONG AND GIVE ME HALO AND BAYONETTA!?!?!?! I JUST WANT TO BE HAPPY.

"Nickel-and-diming DLC is ruining the industry!" [Proceeds to buy most/all of it]
  • pl4y4h - May 28, 2014 10:19 a.m.

Graphics don't matter, but I think people are more upset that what's advertised isn't always what they get (and then people blow it out of proportion and try to "boycott" it or other silly things like that)

I've played like 20 hours of Watch_Dogs since release (NZ time zone), and I must say that I'm disappointed that the Ultra settings doesn't come close to the E3 demo. The game is still one of the best games I've ever played, but I was really looking forward to wondering around in that beautifully immersive world. On ultra the game still looks fantastic, and I do indeed spend my time walking rather than running in order to drink in the scenery, but that 2012 demo really was something special. My heart aches!
  • homestar99 - May 28, 2014 9:28 a.m.

My friend bought an Xbox One, I bought a PS4. We both say we're not fanboys and respect each others decision. Every time I bring up a PS4 feature like the share button he always says something along the lines of being a fanboyistic twat. I only brought up the feature 'cos I thought it was cool, that doesn't mean that you have to trash it all the time, YOU FUCK!
  • PerhapsTheOtherOne - May 28, 2014 9:20 a.m.

Here's mine! >Complains about lack of focus on driven singleplayer storytelling in games >Goes to play CoD online for days on end "Man, I hate that nowadays, it's all about including an unnecessary online component that detracts from the experience of a standalone story's development." "Well, I'll just go play some online CoD matches and pwn some stoopid n00bz."
