Hey they forgot to mention the Sega nomads brother the Sega Cdx. Today the Sega nomad can be mechanically upgraded to an LCD screen and lithium battery support. There's also the gameboy micro, the playstation x aka psx, the Sega pico.

Some idiot at my college actually brings that Pikachua N64 to play with. So it's not only you'r playing a system that hasn't held up AT ALL, your playing w/ a system covered in pokemon shit

The PSOne because it overheated and the CD drive wore off too easily. Also, any other "slim" edition of a prev-gen PlayStation just when the sucessor has been released.

I'd say the PSP go looks about the same level but not worse than the 2ds, it doesn't look bad at all, the only bad thing about it was the functionality.
  • BladedFalcon - August 31, 2013 7:28 p.m.

Nope, none of these are worse than the 2DS redesign. Most of these are either just ugly, or have weird upgrades that are kinda useless, but none of them destroy the core purpose of what the console is meant to be like the 2DS does. Which is to be A FUCKING PORTABLE SYSTEM

Notice how Nintendo has the majority of this list cornered...seems like they have a history of not learning from their past mistakes.
  • Relayer71 - August 29, 2013 9:53 p.m.

The PSPGO was awesome, the only thing bad about it was the price and the fact that Sony couldn't figure out a way of allowing free digital downloads to those who owned physical copies of games. But mostly, I think it was the price.

I always thought the redesign of the NES was pretty terrible looking.
  • wcwwolf - August 30, 2013 6:10 p.m.

Yeah, I was shocked that abomination didn't make the list. Just, all of the list, nothing but pictures of the NES redesign from different angles

You shut your face! The Panasonic Q was awesome!
  • C.King - August 28, 2013 9:57 p.m.

  • Frieza - August 28, 2013 6:41 p.m.

To be fair, I thought the Parasonic Q was pretty cool.
  • RavensPoet - August 28, 2013 10:16 p.m.

As did I, I really wanted one :(
  • 8bitBaby - August 28, 2013 4:36 p.m.

alright, alright, i'll give you that Gilbert. those are some pretty unsexy designs. the jaguar... just a mess. i still think the 2DS is a bad business move though. ah well.
  • SnakeinmyBoot - August 28, 2013 3:57 p.m.

I had a Nomad. Despite being a giant, heavy brick it was actually pretty comfortable for a 9 year-old to hold. Besides the battery life though, the major problem was horrible motion blur in the lcd screen. I remember Sonic finally living up to his nickname as the Blue Blur with this beast. That's what really made it ugly.

Great article (idea and execution), though I'd hesitate to call the Jaguar CD a redesign (seriously, you don't consider it an add-on?).
  • JarkayColt - August 28, 2013 2:35 p.m.

I knew somebody who had the Pikachu N64. It looks like a shoddily made, gaudy birthday cake sculpted out of sickly marzipan. Also this is just my opinion but I find the newest, "super slim" PS3 to be kind of tacky. When I realised my old PS3 was about to kick the bucket, I decided to buy the previous Slim instead in case they went out of production.
  • shawksta - August 28, 2013 3:01 p.m.

Says you When i was a kid, i was the jealous cry baby that i didnt have the Pikachu N64 XD
  • JarkayColt - August 28, 2013 3:33 p.m.

Exactly! I said that it looked like a sickly birthday cake because I was jealous and I knew I couldn't have one, as kids do, lawls. XD I first saw it in a gaming magazine (remember those?) and thought that someone had just sent in a picture of their haphazard attempts at celebratory baked confectionary, a thought that obviously stuck after I saw the real deal and couldn't believe my friend had one, haha.
  • winner2 - August 28, 2013 2:22 p.m.

I just giggled the whole way through this list, and "Jesus Christ"-ed at the jaguar.
