Watch us play the Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D demo

Regarded as one of the best games ever on the the PS2, Metal Gear Solid 3 was one of the first titles shown on the 3DS when it was unveiled at E3 2010. Since then the game has been shown a few times, but we've had relatively little hands-on experience. That changed when the demo for it came to the 3DS eShop this week, as all 3DS owners got to give a small slice of the game a whirl. How's it look? Watch as GR editors Henry and Lorenzo give it a not-so-stealthy playthrough...

The game hits US shores next week, so keep your eyes open for our review real soon.

My question is, considering how you lose an eye at some point in the game, how will the 3DS handle first-person view without the "technical" depth-perception? This has been REALLY bothering me.

hah, that's actually a really good point, I hope they address is in-game. It's the sort of thing Kojima would totally play with if this had been an original 3DS game.

In the demo, when you aim in first person, the 3d automatically gets turned off.

As someone who's beaten every metal gear at least three times (and snake eater 4) it LIT-RALLY hurt watching Henry fumble around. Also its pretty cool how they melded Snake Eater with the Peace Walker control system. Could I get a job as Senior Metal Gear Editor maybe, no site seems to have anyone on staff who gets these games. :

So I just played the demo and noticed something different. You can crouch walk. If I remember, you could only do that in MGS4.

Heh, you can see it in the video...

I still need to find a Circle Pad Pro. Dumbass Gamestop pays for exclusive rights to sell it and then can't even keep it in stock online. What a dick move.

you can just order it off nintendo's website

I feel like that's not really a "dick" move. Maybe "stupid" though. Do they still have them in the store?
