The Walking Dead: Episode 2 release date announced

The first episode of Telltale's video game adaptation of The Walking Dead was a fantastic surprise when it launched back in April. Not only did it impress us quite a bit, but it also sold through the roof, becoming a million-seller in no time at all.

In a last minute surprise, Telltale announced today that the next episode in the series will be landing on XBLA tomorrow, while the PS3 and PC versions will arrive on Friday.

It will be really interesting to hear a bit about how the next episode in the series sells. Telltale is one of the only companies left in the business that still sticks to the episodic release structure (though games like Halo 4 are somewhat resurrecting it,) and we're curious how many users will stick around for future episodes. Or will the game's positive word of mouth actually increase the rate of sales over the last game? Who knows! We're interested to find out.

We'll have our review of Episode 2 posted as soon as possible.

After reading the forums at TTG, there are a lot of people that say they will never buy another game from them due to the delays. A lot of people are also mad about having to wait extra days when they bought the season pass and the product is already late. I bought a season pass on PS3 for the game expecting it to be monthly also and if ep.2 hadn't dropped this month I was going to start trying to get a refund. If I buy anything else from TTG in the future, I will wait until all episodes are released first.

Keep thinking it's July. Done it again...

I guess the Xbox version dropping a couple days earlier will make up for the fact that the first episode dropped a couple days late for them.

Finally. Hopefully it's worth the wait.

Loved the first one. To be honest I was expecting the episodes to be available quicker though. 3 month gaps between episodes kind of kills the core mechanic that you're supposed to remember the detailed effects of every action.

It was two months; which was, admittedly, bad enough. Anyway; I think/hope that the rest of the episodes will follow on a monthly basis.

Not to be mean, but finally we get the next episode. I can't wait to play.

I love it when companies put microsoft 360 users above everyone else.
