It's missing Bahamut Lagoon the last SquareSoft Nintendo game before N64 but a really good list

completely agree with top choice of mother 3... earthbound was the game that really did it for me back when I was younger. was also the first and one of the very few I've played more than once. twice when I first played it. another 4 times down the road. though, honestly never played it without hitting up a walkthrough.

Live a Live? There is a fan-made localization but we could really use official one.

Great article, I want these games! :( Maybe Type-0 will at least get a fan translation?

I completely forgot that Final Fantasy Type-0 has not been released outside of Japan. Square-Enix really bungled that Fabula Nova Crystalis thing, huh? One game that I have always wanted to see come to USA is Blood of Bahamut by Square-Enix. The concept seemed interesting, but I guess not interesting enough for a release outside of Japan.

I really want VC3 to come to the West. I would probably by a Vita for it if it was released on it for whatever reason

Ah Valkyria Chronicles III. I'm glade people still care. I have a Japanese copy and I have to say, it is really good. But it's one of those games we probably will never see here... so sad.

Miles Edgeworth 2, Type-0, and Valkyria Chronicles 3 are Games I've been dying to play. Unfortunately, I don't see then coming any time soon. :(

The reason for why no EBA 2 is because sadly nobody bought it Blame the buttwipes that prefer FPS games and gritty violence instead of whimsy and fun gameplay
  • Net_Bastard - September 17, 2012 1:36 p.m.

Don't expect iNis to do anything with EBA2. The last game they were working on was a fucking rhythm game about the 2009-era Black Eyed Peas.

Ps vita port for ff type zero. I hope not.. would just be cheaper for localization on psp port... because it was made for psp.

How dare you forget about Fire Emblem: Fuuin no Tsurugi?
  • sniper430 - September 17, 2012 1:45 p.m.

VC3 isn't here cause no one bought VC2. So go buy it people.

Ive already played through an English translated rom of Mother 2/EB3. Starmen has a fan translation that they swear is as spot on as possible, and from what I played - I wouldve happily shelled out $35-$40 on that game. MUCH improved combat menus, more attack varieties and one hell of a hilarious yet touching story. It NEEDS to be played by anyone with any familiarity of EarthBound. Plus I got to name a psychic monkey. His name is Taco. Taco the Psychic Monkey. Yup.

My personal favorite would be Jump! Ultimate Stars. It's a Super Smash Bros. clone with all your Shonen Jump favorites. For non-manga people, that means Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, etc. all duking it out on the DS. I imported it a few years ago and loved it despite not understanding a word.

Im assuming their is no fan translation for Valkryia Chronicles 3? I loved the first one (even though I havent beaten it yet. This game is hard!)

I wholeheartly agree, I also have a copy and I hope they do another one more up to date on 3DS and I would then gladly buy a jp 3ds

This review makes me not want Type-0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKHIzobq8Ok, so I would actually take "another FFXIII sequel any day".
  • Darkhawk - September 17, 2012 3:17 p.m.

I actually bought my Wii so I could play Fatal Frame IV.
  • listerofsmeg42 - September 17, 2012 3:18 p.m.

E.X. Troopers needs to be localized because it can't be imported and played on the 3DS.
