I suppose it's all personal taste, but i have to admit that i find the list a little unconvincing - even bearing that in mind. You play up Baird's intelligence, and cite the ticker box fiasco as an example of, but fail to mention that he destroyed the ship Marcus and Dom had been living on for however many years. He might be intelligent by gear standards, but surely there are characters that have demonstrated far greater intellect within this generation, while managing to exhibit an ability to shoot things too. Mordin springs to mind, but i suppose he doesn't really fit the picture of the steriotypical badass. Anyway, from this generation i've liked Jason Hudson (Black Ops - voiced by Ed Harris), Zaeed (Mass Effect), Ruby (WET), Sean Devlin (The Saboteur), Johnny Gat (Saints Row), Kane (Kane and Lynch) and Asura (Asura's Wrath).

UH HELLO!!!!! Where's Master Chief and the Arbitor, that had to be the most Badass dynamic Duo in all of video games, also what about Captain Price or Soap Mactavish

I certainly believe alex mercer prototype 2 deserves a place in there
  • Unoriginal - September 28, 2012 6:54 p.m.

Asura? Hell yes! Glad someone played that other than me.
  • FOZ - September 28, 2012 1:34 p.m.

I meant that Asura's stoic, straightforward demeanor makes him closest to the archetypical badass, not that it takes them "to new heights." How dare you, Hollander Cooper.

PUT ALL THE WORDS IN ALL THE MOUTHESES.

    Still no Nathan Drake?
  • BladedFalcon - September 28, 2012 2:22 p.m.

Nope, again, he's really not that baddass. Specially not Attitude and story-wise.
  • db1331 - September 28, 2012 11:54 a.m.

Geralt (The Witcher) would beat the shit out of anyone on this list. Then he would have gratuitous sex with a large-breasted woman.
  • slimjim441 - September 28, 2012 6:55 p.m.

I almost forgot about Geralt. I think it's too late for recognition though.
  • winner2 - September 28, 2012 10:26 p.m.

You're probably right. He really is a badass though, especially considering the hell-hole of betrayal, murder, and other bad shit that is The Witcher's universe.
  • SunnyvaleTrash - September 28, 2012 6:15 a.m.

Grayson Hunt (Bulletstorm) definitely deserves a mention. Getting extra point for getting drunk, shooting an explosive onto a bad guy, and then kicking him into a man-eating plant is definitely bad-ass.
  • GR_LucasSullivan - September 28, 2012 11:56 a.m.

Plus, the voice of Spike Spiegel! Good God, how I want that game to get a sequel.
  • furiouslunchbox - September 27, 2012 5:58 p.m.

Garcia fucking Hotspur needs to be on this list. He kicks demons in the balls and defeated lucifer to get his girlfriend back. Cant get much more badass than that.
  • JA - September 27, 2012 4:23 p.m.

Why is Cole here and not Alex Mercer, He can kick Cole's ass any day. Anyway My top 3 are John Marston, Max Payne and Commander Shepard
