MONDAY 17 JANUARY

  • Film4 continues its Monday night Trek-a-thon with Star Trek: First Contact at 6:50pm, and you can find Michael Keaton cult classic Beetle Juice on Fiver at 9pm.
  • If the TV isn’t doing it for you, there’s plenty to pick up on DVD today, as subterranean scare fest The Hole , Brit horror Outcast and A Town Called Eureka Season 3.5 all arrive on the shelves of your local entertainment emporium.

TUESDAY 18 JANUARY

  • It’s all a bit quiet tonight, but there’s always No Ordinary Family on Watch at 8pm.

WEDNESDAY 19 JANUARY

  • Harrison Ford and Sean Connery are the father and son duo from action/adventure heaven in Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade on BBC1 at 8pm, while Will Smith is the last man in Manhattan over on ITV2 at 9pm as I Am Legend gets an airing.

THURSDAY 20 JANUARY

  • Alan Moore might have disowned it, but Depp gives a decent account of himself chasing Jack the Ripper around 19th century Whitehall in From Hell , Channel 5 at 10pm.
  • If you’re in the mood for some literary stimulation, a trio of tremendously titled tomes arrive today in the form of Alison Hewitt Is Trapped by Madeleine Roux, Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch and Life, Liberty And The Pursuit Of Sausages by Tom Holt.

FRIDAY 21 JANUARY

  • Natalie Portman freaks us out using nothing but interpretive dance in The Black Swan , out today at your local enormoplex.
  • Gamers flex their thumbs as Mass Effect 2 arrives on the PS3.
  • Friday frights are assured thanks to the release of John Carpenter’s The Ward on DVD today.

SATURDAY 22 JANUARY

  • The Clone Wars continue to cause inter-stellar carnage on Sky Movies Premiere at 10am and again at 5:30pm if your hangover hasn’t quite cleared by then. Meanwhile the good folks of Primeval will be working to keep your Saturday night anomaly-free on ITV1 at 7pm.

SUNDAY 23 JANUARY
