MONDAY 11 OCTOBER

  • SEASON PREMIERE! The fourth series of The Sarah Jane Adventures gets underway at 5.15pm on CBBC.
  • SEASON PREMIERE! Mark Gatiss presents A History Of Horror on BBC Four at 9pm.
  • Freeview viewers can get their first look at V as it starts its second UK run on Channel One at 10pm.
  • Dollhouse ’s second season flies the TV box set flag, 30 Days Of Night sequel Dark Days does the same for straight-to-DVD movies, and Blu-ray is represented by The Evil Dead and Lost In Space .

TUESDAY 12 OCTOBER

  • A busy night of TV viewing is on the cards, with Stargate Universe and Fringe on Sky1 (at 9pm and 10pm, respectively), The Vampire Diaries on ITV2 at 9pm, Eureka on Syfy at 8pm and Smallville on E4 at 9pm.
  • Iain M Banks signs his Surface Detail at the Waterstone's West End in Edinburgh.
  • Doctor Who Live materialises in Sheffield.
  • The Making Of The Empire Strikes Back arrives in bookshops.

WEDNESDAY 13 OCTOBER

  • Get in touch with the other side – Ghost Whisperer ’s on Living at 9pm.
  • Iain M Banks continues his signing tour at the Waterstone's in Glasgow .

THURSDAY 14 OCTOBER

  • SEASON PREMIERE! The fourth season of Chuck kicks off in its new home at Living. It's on at 10pm.
  • A double bill on Syfy with Warehouse 13 at 9pm and Haven at 10pm. True Blood is on Channel 4 at 10.20pm.
  • Michael Moorcock's Doctor Who novel, The Coming Of The Terraphiles , hits bookshops. Al Ewing's Zombo , Eric Brown's Engineman and Stephen Jones's "mosaic novel" Zombie Apocalypse! are also out.
  • I ain M Banks works his way south and turns up at the Waterstone's in Manchester's Deansgate.
  • SCI-FI-LONDON's Oktoberfest 2010 gets under way.
  • The Bram Stoker International Film Festival scares Whitby.

FRIDAY 15 OCTOBER

  • Be spellbound this evening by Merlin on BBC One at 7.45pm.
  • This year’s British International Comics Show comes to Birmingham for the weekend. Jonathan Ross, Charles Vess, Bryan Hitch, Charlie Adlard and Dave Gibbons are among the guests.
  • Film4 hosts a Star Trek Weekend , airing all of the pre-JJ Abrams Trek movies. It gets underway with The Motion Picture at 2pm, and continues into Sunday.
