Strange how "Braid" isn't there... eh? Or is the plot of that one TOO intentionally evil? And does Gears of War remind you of what the colonials did to the native Americans?

the bioshock one was probably the greatest simplification. and the halo one the smallest

Brilliant. Super Mario kart was the funniest thing I have read for a long time.

It seems that some of these games were supposed to have a disconcerting, morally ambigious, plot line. FEAR, Bioshock and maybe even Gears of War. You don't really need to deconstruct.

Thinking of myself as the bad guy makes me enjoy Doom even more.

Okay there GamesRadarDavidHoughton, no need to get all anti-pokemon over a silly article. Besides, Pokemon is amazing! For over ten years Pokemon has survived, and thrived! It is one of the oldest running games to still be wildly popular. It's also one of Nintendo's biggest money makers, so don't plan on having it go away any time soon. Oh! And have a nice day!

  • Awesomeitude1523 - June 12, 2009 7:42 p.m.

What about Fallout 3 if you're evil? "a solitary anarchist goes on a rampage, brutally murdering animals and humans alike, while in the search for his rebellious, anti-government father"
  • Drama - June 12, 2009 10:02 p.m.

@Awesomeitude1523: Read the title. It says 'secretly sinister storylines.' That means the bad stuff is hidden from the naked eye and/or sugarcoated. Fallout 3 is all about choice. YOU are in the characters shoes. Nothing secret there. While I like your concept, it doesn't fit with this article.
  • disturbedanomaly36 - June 12, 2009 10:24 p.m.

haha, Super Mario Kart, gotta love these articles, loved the mario kart screen, and if you use that description for Doom 3, it woud be incorrect, you didnt kill the counselor, that one guy who becomes a gargoyle after you kill the cyberdemon did
