RE5 and 6 weren't bad. In fact, the formula could be kept as it's developed with the controls, the co-op, the over the shoulder, and still return to a more survival horror experience.
1. Ammo. I honestly feel like RE6 could have been terrifying if you didn't have magical ammo potentially falling from every enemy.
2. Inventory. Sorry, but being able to carry 2 glocks, a magnum, a shotgun, an assault rifle, a grenade thrower, and a sniper rifle at once is a bit ridiculous. Limit it and make players choose what they will and won't carry.
Those alone will make the games survival horror.
I'd also like to tone down away from the bioweapons that transform and have all kinds of super powers, less over the top action sequences (jumping a 2 story building on a motorcycle, surviving explosions, crashes, and a dozen things that should be guaranteed crippling injury if not instant death), and focus on traditional zombies.
Zombies traditionally don't run, but when you're faced with a wall of them shambling towards you, lunging when close, and you're low on bullets...it'll get the scare RE fans want.
We don't need to go fully back to the old style to "fix" Resident Evil to its roots. It just needs to evolve as it has been while maintaining its identity.

Capcom needs Shinji Mikami, the creator of RE. But he's doing his own thing with his studio creating a fresh survival/horror experience. So I'm happy with that. Fans of the old RE games should sign the petition to remake RE2. I'm not sure if Capcom is going to throw fans of the classics a bone. They know the big, easy money is with the CoD/Halo/GearsofWar kids.

Didn't get any boot up bug, but I did get the corrupt data message five hours into Jake's campaign. I've seen similiar problems from others at different points in the other campaigns as well. Not a good start for RE6, huh?

Cool - I got 'em all right. I did wonder if Director's Cut was included in the number of games question but the numbers rounded up!
A cool quiz (even though I'm not a huge fan of 4 and 5!)

You guys need to make these harder. I'm only a casual fan and I scored perfectly. They're too east.

Got 9 out of 10 - the question about how many RE games were sold total got me. I knows me quite a bit about Resident Evil, it seems.
Also, for the question about Barry's weapon of choice, I think you got the name of his weapon confused with another weapon you can get in the game. Granted, I haven't played the original Resident Evil in a long, LONG time, but I'm pretty sure Barry's weapon of choice was a Colt Anaconda, not a Python.

I've made $64,000 so far this year working online and I'm a full time student. Im using an online business opportunity I heard about and I've made such great money. It's really user friendly and I'm just so happy that I found out about it. Heres what I do, http://Gray21.com

"It’s a shame Resi 5 re-used the idea so shamelessly."
...And then resi 6 turn it into rutine. :(

I'm leaving this site for good! It's just irritated me too much with these stupid articles which don't make sense, and the poor 12-year old writing style.
Good-bye GamesRadar, your articles have driven me and many other forum member to the the realms of insanity!

I want to know why PC gamers like myself have to wait longer for these games to come out... I mean the games are programmed on computers right? So we should get them first I mean come on.

Get rid of the fucking co-op or put it in a separate mode, it totally rids the player of any feeling of isolation and terror.
Resi 4 is one of the greatest games of recent years for a reason, and it seems capcom don't know how to replicate it (hint - don't undermine shinji mikami so much that he leaves the company).

From what we've been told, Leon's campaign's supposed to play the most like traditional Resi, but from what I've seen, even THAT seems to be far more action-oriented than the gameplay of Resi 4. And if THAT'S supposed to be the toned-down, scarier stuff, I'm not particularly looking forward to Chris's sections.
I mean, it's one thing to change the genre totally and market it as something different- look at Metal Gear Rising, one of my most highly anticipated games. But to change the genre up so much, and then say it's a direct sequel seems like a ballsy, if not disastrous, move.

Wow this is really cool news. The fact that it is primarily single player and the inclusion of Ada missions hearkens back to RE4, has me most excited. I just hope that splitting one game into so many pieces that the whole game doesn't suffer from the apparent diversity of the package.
