SSX demo getting tricky on February 21

SSX hits the digital slopes at the end of the month, but creative director Todd Batty has revealed a demo of the snowboarding reboot will appear for download on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network on February 21 (February 22 for PSN players in the UK).

Detailed in the latest SSX Ubercast, the demo will feature four events from the game, a pair of tutorials, and a chance to give the title's skydiving mechanic a whirl. The character selection will be limited to just Zoe Payne (any relation?), however players can unlock Mackenzie "Mac" Fraser by referring the demo to a friend.

EA has been laying its SSX promotion on thick over the past few months. In case you missed it, check out yesterday's Siberia trailers, wednesday's location previews, and an Antarctica Zone video from earlier this month. And because we like you, we'll throw in GR's interview with SSX's Geoff Coates for free.

SSX arrives for PS3 and Xbox 360 on February 28 in North America, and March 2 in the UK.

I'm usually not much for demos, but I'd love to try this one out.

I hope this demo turns me around on the game. The videos of a single snowboarder riding down a lonely mountain, with nothing but ghost images of 'best times' isn't doing it for me. Where's the satisfaction of speeding passed another rider because they made you bail early on in the race?

There are many gameplay videos of actual races against CPU players.

That's great news considering it will be the only I'll be able to play this game.
