Smoking kills in Infamous: Second Son dev video

Where there's smoke, there's Delsin Rowe, and Sucker Punch goes in-depth with Infamous: Second Son's rich and creamy particle effects in this video developer diary. We're not ones to get excited about a bunch of technical tricks, but when your character spends half the game as a cloud of smoldering cinders, it's just being practical.

Rowe can absorb other conduits' (AKA superpowered people's) abilities, but we're not sure we can think of a better open-world ability than smoke manipulation. Seriously, we've been blowing up cars since GTA III just to watch them explode. Now it's a power-up.

Infamous: Second Son is a PS4 exclusive, and it's set to release in the first half of 2014.

Really excited to see what other abilities Delsin will acquire!

On a side note: I really hope there's a disclaimer when you load up the game warning against the dangers of smoking and that it won't give you mutant smoke powers.

Color me excited. I love love love inFamous 2 (and the first, to a lesser degree) and I cannot wait to get my sausage fingers on this game.

Particles, shmarticles. The REAL question is, are there fish that swim away when you swim at them?
