Sharp new Okami screens hit

[PS2] Fresh shots include peeks at Japanese folklore's toughest monster

Okami is still a few months away from its US release, but Capcom has graced us with a new look at the weirdly beautiful platform-hopper that casts players as the sun goddess Amaterasu, who has taken the shape of a dog (possibly for tax reasons).

The new screens prominently feature the Yamata no Orochi, an eight-headed dragon of Japanese legend, and Ushiwaka, an enigmatic character who you'll fight several times over the course of the game. We've also got new shots of Amaterasu doing her thing in the game's bleak, hand-painted landscape. Hit the Images tab above to get a closer look.

After graduating from college in 2000 with a BA in journalism, I worked for five years as a copy editor, page designer and videogame-review columnist at a couple of mid-sized newspapers you've never heard of. My column eventually got me a freelancing gig with GMR magazine, which folded a few months later. I was hired on full-time by GamesRadar in late 2005, and have since been paid actual money to write silly articles about lovable blobs.
