Yet another ass hat spouting off nonsense. Video games game the shooter courage? BASED ON WHAT???? F'ing BS, guess what else was in the shooters house along with games... toothpaste! I have it on good authority every mass shooter of the last 3 years has had toothpaste in their home. Maybe we should have the CDC research any potential correlation between toothpaste and real-life violence! For F*** sake how about the fact the there was a bible in Lanza's home, or that his mother was a Doomsday religious nut job!

Leland Yee's statement about how gamers need to basically shut up in this debate was far worse in my mind.

if they ban video games then should ban TV, newspapers ect. because no matter where you look you see violence.

Which video game, exactly, featured the gun the guy used? What does violent mean, exactly? Are guns the only violent things that are important now?

Sadly some of this may be true. In an article today the Sheriff in Texas spoke about what that 15 year kid who just shot his entire family dead said... Not only did he learn from video games but the Sheriff also said he perked up and became super enthused about talking about the shooter games he loved to play....

That shows problems at home and quite probably mental health issues. It shows his detachment with reality. Video Games with proper mental health can actually be a good thing, a way to relieve stress or relax. With mental "sickness" or "disease" it could only make things worse. It's more about seeing and dealing with Mental Health issues before something like this happens.

I seriously doubt that most of these politicians actually believe what they say, but they say it because many ignorant citizens will give them recognition that they don't deserve. The older generations do not understand games, just the same as the younger generations that do not understand firearms. Many older folks are stuck in the past, while the young will not even look at it.
