I'd agree with everyone else, the new layout sucks hard. Before it was easy to navigate and new stories and features were included together from newest to oldest down the page. There were also older popular features at the top and on the side were the most popular articles commented on. Made sense and was helpful. This new one makes no sense and is a clusterfuck of articles jumbled around on a huge page. They go side to side and diagonal. Even after trying to follow Wayde's advice I went down the page and couldn't tell what was new or old, if it went from right to left or up to down, and could not see dates for anything. I have no clue what is new and will be looking elsewhere for articles and information, due to too many headaches. There is a reason the sister site and more popular uses the same format you used to, because it actually made sense. I understand you want to experiment, but please for everyone's sake go back to the drawing board, after having changed it back, that way we can all get back to reading the great articles on here.

This is worse than the Kotaku Redesign a while back. Except with this one there's no way to revert back to anything similar to what once was

I know one mans voice is not enough but still here are my views. I have long been a supporter of GR (the UK side anyway) over the years the articles and content have been watered down, diluted to a point of taking any true credibility out of the Journalism. Very rarely do I come on to the site and find a well voiced editorial from the likes of Dave Houghton where as once upon a time logging on to the site would give you a wealth of articles from Cundy, Irvine, Towell or Houghton that were well written and genuinely funny. The UK podcast is still comedic genius. I even went as far to write a little jingle for them a year or 2 back (Yes I am Farmer Jonny Pancackes) But this site has lost me now. It has a completely US bias (not always a bad thing but there are 101 sites out there which cater solely to the US). And whilst I have no facts to back this up I think the UK guys humor has all but been edited out I know what makes our American cousins laugh is not necessarily what makes us chortle and visa versa.

I'll be back if I ever want to know the top 17 gaming characters that look like hard ons. Until then Au revior.

I'm one of your American cousins, and love Cundy & Crew's humor.
  • GrrBadger - December 10, 2012 1:55 p.m.

Great If more people from both sides of our merry old pond pipe up we can get more of it.
  • MassSaber - December 11, 2012 7:52 a.m.

I too get the feeling the UK Content is being watered down bit don't get me wrong i'm a fan of the American stuff as well(Game releases of week being a personal fave) but it's getting to the point where the UK Staff seem to be like special guests rather acutally part of the site, taking away one the things I have always loved about this site it's International aspect. GR now seems be trying to target Americans only rather than the international audience it once did

I like the new layout, but it could do with cutting out the comments under the titles on the homepage, would make it easier to see which articles there are. Also, I really think there should be email notifications if someone replies to your comment. *And an edit button!

I like the redesign it looks slick but I do miss how in the old design the newest news and articles were front and center
  • kazimierz3000 - December 10, 2012 1:08 p.m.

I'm glad you guys are moving forward but the site looks like a really busy mess now. I was very happy with the organized list of new content and articles.
  • Ashn - December 10, 2012 1:03 p.m.

Oh man this is bad, don't use many gaming news sites and if this is how its gonna be im gonna have to abandon this one, way to cluttered, i have no idea what to look at. hurts my head
  • babyface - December 10, 2012 1:03 p.m.

I can't deal with this redesign, hopefully it is just one of those things that takes time to get used to
  • Edias - December 10, 2012 12:36 p.m.

The new design feels like it was designed for a mobile device. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, since I bet that it would work great for that, but it's not so good for when you're browsing on PC.

    1. Sophia is awesome. 2. How can you not understand the new layout? It took less than a minute to adjust. Can nobody internet anymore? 3. I can't wait to see that Best Butts feature from Cooper!
  • Redeater - December 10, 2012 12:38 p.m.

    4. People like me use their iPhone because they are never at home so yes, this site is a pain in the ass to look at.
  • HitmanSB07 - December 10, 2012 12:43 p.m.

It has nothing to do with understanding or adjusting to the new layout. It is, to put it simply, a clusterfuck and an eyesore compared to the old design. If Sophia keeps making decisions like this she's going to be the site's downfall. It's already begun though, judging by this mess.
  • MolokoVeck - December 10, 2012 1:58 p.m.

Actually several people have commented, or demonstrated in their comments, that they do not understand the new layout. Some people have complained that they liked it better when the most recent articles were front and center (which they still are, see the section titled "The Stream"). So I was referring to understanding and adjusting to the new layout. As to your comment that this is a "clusterfuck" and an "eyesore", that is your opinion and you are entitled to it. If you do not like the way that the site looks then I cannot argue against that. I do however believe that this is a step in the right direction. Personally I believe the site is more aesthetically pleasing and interesting. Several sites have moved toward this kind of stream layout, and sites like Pulse have been doing it for years. Like most change, people are immediately resistant because they are used to the old way. My initial response was negative, but after 10 seconds of navigating the page I saw what GamesRadar did there. Also, I have not viewed this on my iPhone yet but I would imagine the layout would be tweaked over time to be more accommodating on mobile devices. This type of layout has been successful on mobile devices before, and since the layout is new then there are still likely some kinks to work out.
  • ParagonT - December 11, 2012 4:42 p.m.

Just a question, so how do you tell what order things are in within The Stream? Because from what I can see, it looks like the articles with the bigger picture is actually sinking other articles down levels than where they need to be.
  • xx_CaPTiiN_SpAiiN_zz - December 10, 2012 12:19 p.m.

what the fuck is this stupid shit design gamesradar staff and here i thought the way you messed up the articles by making them in pages instead of scrolling down with the wheel was the WORST thing out of the past century apart from the holocaust and that is to show how frustrated u are making me... i may leave and choose a different site if you dont fix this and other people will too this is unacceptable
  • Moondoggie1157 - December 10, 2012 12:31 p.m.

I think they changed the layout just so you would leave and choose a different site...
