This layout looks and feels like something a high school student would have come up with in 2004. At first I thought I was looking at one of those terrible 'mobile optimized' sites.

I'm usually against layout changes but this one is actually SUPER nice.

I am not a fan if im being honest. Sorry guys but its just messy and not as friendly as the old layout

I won't say that it's a bad layout, because you have to admit its way more sleek, but I will concur with that to an extent. I've been on and off the site multiple times for awhile now and it is still disorienting and does seem to not be organized (unless your dyslexic). It's not what I would call 'optimized' yet, but I have hope they will tweak it a bit.

I wish the stream was closer to the top of the page and the top 10 games was at the bottom...

Yeah, or to the side, it's not the most relevant info that most people want to be near the top I think.

I could deal with all the design layout changes in the past. I could deal with my favorite GR employees leaving. Hell, I could even deal with the removal of Top 7. I could deal with the number ratings being replaced with half-stars. This just pushed me over the edge. It's the straw that broke the camel's back, so to say. I've been going to this website for five years, and now I have to accept it. You guys are dead to me. Fuck you, Gamesradar.

Wow.... wow.... what is wrong with you?

I understand why the design change has sparked the reactions expressed in the comments in this article, but please for the love of God navigate the site before you post! Comments such as "I went down the page and couldn't tell what was new or old" - fandango89, "How do I... find anything?" - Fuzunga, and "At least add a stream... I don't want to have to scan all over the place to find what's new" - cosmicshambles, are just lazy! Apparently half of you are not aware of the section titled "THE STREAM", where the articles are displayed from newest to oldest...
  • fandango89 - December 11, 2012 7:09 p.m.

Actually Moloko people HAVE been trying it out. You think even though 75% of people are saying the same thing and complaining about the reorganization all haven't tried using it yet? We have tried using it it is just ANNOYING. Yes you are the third person to point out new info is under stream. But I tried using it 3 times before I posted how annoying it was. The reason is is annoying is how you have to scroll down far past a bunch of stuff to try and find new information. Also as before newer things were listed above with a date and others were listed below. The stream has TERRIBLE organization. Is it from top left to right, top right to left, or top to bottom. There is no way to tell because articles are plastered all over in a haphazard fashion. Not only that but now there are no dates under each article to compound the problem of telling when they were posted. Not only that but even if it were from side to side, they aren't even in rows. Some are above and right and below and left. Where is a diagonal article in relation to everything else. There is no reason for it and it makes no sense. I see articles I know I have read in the stream above articles I haven't see so it is either the organization of it or problems. So we do know everyone isn't lazy, the website design is.

I was kind of non-plussed about the whole thing to be honest. In a month or two I'm sure everyone will be carrying on as normal (like the Facebook timeline change). However I've just noticed that people can comment on articles now from the front page without actually clicking on the article. Isn't this going to encourage those people who look at the title of an article and make knee-jerk comments without reading?
  • ParagonT - December 11, 2012 4:32 p.m.

I could totally see that.. Oh dear God...
  • shockwave972 - December 11, 2012 5:35 a.m.

I stopped going to gametrailers cuz of what they did to their site now you guys did same thing me no likey!
  • ncurry2 - December 11, 2012 4:59 a.m.

Can we have an option to revert back to the old style? I like having everything show up in list format without having to click anything to reveal more stuff. I check the site multiple times per day and I'd like to be able to quickly glance at the front page and see if there's anything new to check out. I don't mean to hate but this redesign is just too cluttered. I really only frequent you and GameInformer anymore and you guys are my first stop. But that's changing now.

to be honest, i've been reading kotaku more and more in recent months, but i've always come back here and maintained my account to comment and stuff mainly out of loyalty. i've loved GR for a looong time, but ever since you guys ran out of stuff to make top 7 lists about, the site lost its way. and now with this ridiculous over-correction of a redesign, the site is losing longtime fans like myself. shame.
  • MCN2011 - December 11, 2012 3:04 a.m.

You read Kotaku, and you're complaining about this site's content and layout? Were you dropped on your head as a child?
  • lazer59882 - December 12, 2012 1:43 a.m.

what the fuck are you talking about? how about you try making an actual point instead of saying asinine statements like the one you made? yes i read kotaku, yes i think the new GR is garbage. what's your fucking point?
  • mattdark - December 12, 2012 7:38 a.m.

Alot of people went on a rage-spree when Kotaku did their last update to the layout of the site (Seems to be a running theme on there) Alot of people didnt like the new layout because they thought it made things more difficult to get to, even though their new layout is actually pretty easy to use, and its easy to scroll through the latest pieces of news. This feels alot like the PSN store update, its little more then a facial to make things look better and more streamlined, but its actually much more difficult to use and causing more problems then its meant to solve.
  • lazer59882 - December 13, 2012 1:26 a.m.

thanks for clearing up that asshole's assholic comment. i haven't been reading kotaku THAT long though, so i dont know what it was like before it is now. personally i think it's pretty ingeniously laid out.
