Chris Paine's sequel to his 2006 doc Who Killed The Electric Car? charts a sea-change in attitude, as previously sceptical manufacturers race to put the trendy, eco-friendly technology into mass production.
This is potentially a ripe subject, especially when real life throws a curveball with the recession and its “radical de-blinging” of expectations. Yet Paine, having garnered access to execs who once shunned him, is in no hurry to sour the mood.
The resulting puff-piece is a warning to crusading filmmakers about what happens after they’ve beaten the system.
