Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City trailer highlights four multiplayer modes

Corporate assassins, elite military operatives and slavering undead forms recipe for latest RE game

Capcom’s latest trailer for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City has Umbrella and Spec Ops soldiers squaring off, will all manner of RE horrors caught in the crossfire. The trailer highlights four game modes: Team Attack aka team deathmatch, the escort mode Biohazard, the hold out for evac Survivors mode, and Heroes, where players must take out the other team’s iconic RE characters, while protecting their own.

While the trailer is focused on the four game modes, a post on Capcom Unity explains how the “fatally neutral” undead will serve as a sort of environmental hazard. Community leader Elston comments that “this three-way battle should make for some interesting online matches, especially when you use items and abilities to make the other humans seem more appetizing.” When Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City comes out on March 20 (March 23 in the UK), it’ll be player versus player versus zombies.

I am really interested in seeing how the zombies in the middle will work out. It will be amazing if they integrate it in there as well as it seems. It adds an element that no other games, that I can think of, have. I plan on hitting this game.

Hitting? What the hell was I thinking? I meant getting.

Agreed, provided it IS implemented right, and not just, like, jammed in. Because, if it's not done right, they'll just get bloody annoying bloody quick. Plus, the special zombie's would only really work in Survivors- in any PvP-style match, the special zombies would REALLY take away the focus, and defeat the point of the match type :/ Like, if I'm playing a Team Deathmatch, I'd rather be focussing entirely on killing the other team, not about some licker coming up behind me and ripping my brains out, especially since I'm not that great at Team Deathmatch as it is.
