Correction-In this episode during the discussion on the Last of Us movie Ashley said the name of Joel's friend was Trish, but it is actually Tess. Then I believe it was Tony and Lorenzo who agreed with her, although I'm not sure whether they were expressing agreement with the name or her choice in Lena Headey as the role of Tess. Either way just thought I'd throw that out there, and I do agree with the actor choices. For Joel though I'd say Guy Pearce. Check out the trailer to The Rover if your curious about that choice. Thanks everyone, love the show.

I've gone through the gamut of weird dreams ranging from falling (and bouncing when I hit the ground) to moving back to my college town, taking on crazy debt, and then forgetting to go to a class until the end of a semester. The absolute worst though: I had a dream where all of my teeth fell out. My mother gathered them up in a bloody paper towel that was tied at the top like a pouch (and seemed like it had a lot more teeth then usual... maybe a hundred or so) and drove me toward the dentist office in our old Chevy Astro Van. En route, I realized I had all of my teeth again, so I tossed the bloody paper towel/teeth combo out of the window. My mother freaked out, telling me that that those were her teeth, revealing gaping holes in her gums where giant nerve endings were hanging and wiggling like worms. I can still remember it so vividly. Also, it makes me want to vomit.

Long time listener, first time poster. QOTW: First lets start off with a little side note: When I was younger and I'd have scary dreams, one of the most common ways that I would wake up from them was when I closed my eyes. It didn't matter if it was during a lucid dream and I did it on purpose or if it happened on accident by getting scared from something around a corner. Closing my eyes always woke me up. It was my kick (Inception reference), Anyways on to the dream. When I was a kid, around 6/7th grade, I used to have this reoccuring dream where I was in the parking lot of the apartment complex I lived at with my mom. It was a gravel parking lot with two overhang carports on either side, and lead up to the side of the complex. Near the complex, in the middle of the parking lot was a bench that faced me (only in the dream). My youngest brother was there as well, but he ran off to go climb up the side fence of the carport to the left, to get to the field up top and go play. From where I stood I could see the tree branches that, due to perspective, looked like they were hanging over the roof of the building. In this dream I would hear a voice talking to me, but I wasn't sure who it was at first (I can't remember what was said, it was so long ago) but then I would see this silhouette of a rather large ant, crawl down the tree branches and onto the roof of the building (again the perspective, think echochrome). He was the voice that was talking to me. I watched the silhouette disappear from my sight and then go quiet. I looked around and couldn't find him. Then when I looked behind me there it was, though it was huge, with multiple legs and it was standing up, but leaning down into my face and laughing. I would get so scared I'd close my eyes and wake up. I had this dream multiple times. Until one night during the dream, I had a plan. The dream progressed exactly like it had many times before, however this time I called out to my brother. He returned and I told him to follow me. We went to the bench and got up on it and huddled facing the back of it. He asked me "What are we doing?" my plan was to see if the creature would show itself if we weren't looking and I told him "I'm trying something." to which he replied "Should we close our eyes?" and I said "Sure." I woke up and I've never had that dream again. I was so mad at my brother because he fucked up my plan.

Circa 2007, I was walking in a dark, southern Tel Aviv street going to a Rock club that I used to frequent at the time. There was a light drizzle that's just enough to make us middle-easterners stay at home. There was no line outside the club. Going in, instead of the usual crumbling stairs I was greeted with a huge, brightly lit Art-Deco hall, so I went into the elevator. During the stupidly long elevator ride a weapon rose into my field of view, FPS-like. It was a shotgun with the receiver of an M16 for some reason. I "unequipped" it, and exited to a posh casino crowded with celebrities and diplomats (I think I saw Vlad Putin, maybe John Travolta. Can't remember). Someone escorted me to the guestbook and urged me to write something. I refused awkwardly and found myself a quiet corner. All of a sudden, the room started swarming with creatures looking not unlike The Flood. They were just standing there, either indifferent or bugged, when the AR/shotgun crept back into my view. "I might as well" I thought to myself, but upon the first shot they all transformed instantly into children, about elemantary school age. They were just strolling or playing casually, not paying any attention to me, but still somehow annoyed the #$%&! out of me. Few minutes passed, and out of boredom or annoyance I started shooting at them. My shots did nothing but drawing their attention, and they started swarming me. After a few more shots that did absolutely nothing I ran back the the busy part of the casino and jumped straight into a glass window. Shattering it, I fell from the ~50th floor and landed smoothly, totally unharmed. I found myself in a small, fenced yard adjacent to the tall building. Tried to climb the low fence but realized it was an invisible wall. The yard had few, ridiculously tall (2-3 stories tall) stacks of plastic chairs. I climbed one of the stacks and saw a martian Doom skybox surrounding the world. That's when I woke up.

I don't really remeber any of my dreams anymore but one from when I was about 7 or 8 has never managed to erase itself from my memory. It was a hot summer day in Illinois and my friend and I were sitting in my moms mini van waiting for her to come outside. For about 5 minutes I felt something splapping my bare feet. Eventually my child self had had enough. I looked down to yell at what whatever it was annoying me and it was a monkey. It then proceeded to grab me by my feet, and drag me away while saying it was taking me to some monkey jail. As the bastard pulled me thorugh a hole in my drive way the last thing I yelled to my friend was "Tell my mom I want digimon for my birthday". The fucked up thing was I didn't even like DIgimon! I would've much prefered Pokemon or Power Rangers! Oh, and I refused to sleep without out my feet covered by at least one blanket for the next two years after that.

Welcome to the train Jane. QOTW: I had a dream that Next Gen actually started.
  • Tim_Gruver - July 28, 2014 4:48 p.m.

Glad to have you here Jann! Can't stomach alcohol myself. QOTW: I wake up in a disturbed frenzy. I look towards my window, expecting something nightmarishly hideous to jump through it. Nothing happens. I lay down again. I'm tapped on the shoulder by Darth Maul, who then insists on singing, creepily going "Me me me me!" and stabbing me through the chest with his lightsaber. This same nightmare followed me for a good 2-3 years after I saw the Phantom Menace. I am NOT making this up.

Sorry this one is a little wordy. I had dream started off with gremlins being released somehow I don't really remember the details (and these are the ones from the movies). I was after them to get them under control despite being highly unqualified to be handling dangerous creatures. I somehow killed most and tracked the leader to the mall which started getting creepy as he was running around a small building in the parking lot (possibly coffee shop) with a lot of very reflective windows. I keep seeing his reflection getting a very house of mirrors effect. I managed to back him into a corner but there was an access panel down to the basement which he managed to get into the sewers. Evidently the one I had been chasing wasn't actually the leader. I found spike (the one I was chasing and I'm just calling him spike since that was his name in the movies but this one didn't have a mohawk) in the back of the room with another gremlin. Only this one was able to greet and speak normally whereas the other ones were more like the movies and could only talk a little. He explained to me that spike wasn't actually a bad guy and just needed more time for his mind to develop. He went on to say that the gremlins were almost wiped out by mankind for acting the way they do with the random mischief and destruction and murder. Apparently if given a chance to live for longer than a day their minds fully develop and they become social creatures that would have a lot to offer society. For whatever reason I decided to believe him and I stuck by spikes side who was already acting a lot more "normal". During the night as he went through another change which was like heroin withdrawal... I think the weirdest part was when he was hungry I got him some food that the other already intelligent gremlin had which was for some reason a bag of popcorn and chicken... So he goes through this metamorphosis and claims he is all better. I take him out of the lair and try to get him acclimated to the human life. The smart gremlin had this kind of trinket that would make gremlins look like humans (don't know if it was tech or magic) so it was ok to go for a walk down the street. Spike however returned to his old ways and I had to put him down… This sucked because he still looked human after death and I was a wanted man until they did the autopsy.

I just had a dream last night that Danny Tamberelli, of All That! on Nickelodeon fame, (fame probably isn't the right word) stole my car. In the dream nobody believed me and honestly I don't blame them for a second.

I had a recurring dream when I was younger. I'd be standing on a rickety dock with C-3P0, R2D2 and Chewbacca. 3P0 had an action figure of himself and would always accidentally drop it into the water. I'd courteously reach down to grab it before it sank, and every time I tried a shark would bite off my hand and I'd wake up. there's also this other dream about Howie Mandell, a butterfly knife and a river of severed heads. but that's a story for another day.

One time, when I was 9, I dreampt I was standing on a giant brick wall balancing over a pool of sharks in front of me and quick sand behind me. I awoke screaming and feeling like I was falling, even though I had already awoken. My parents rushed in and I had fallen off the top of my bunk bed and broke my wrist on a set of blocks I had set up next to my bed. It's the only dream I fully remember.

The weirdest dream I remember was being in my dining room and having a Scooby Doo-type monster come in the front door. Terrified, I ran upstairs and then up to the attic. I thought this would be safe because I ran much faster than the ghost, but no sooner than I get to the top of the attic steps does the ghost round the corner to approach the bottom of those same steps. I woke up at that moment, but it was weird because I hadn't watched Scooby Doo for several years before that.

QOTW: Weirdest dream I ever had happened after watching the Adam West Batman movie. Batman and Robin were out patrolling the streets, and suddenly the Penguin runs up to the and just goes "MEHHH!!" or whatever. Batman then says "Oh no, it's the Penguin. Quick Robin, go get the SCARY MANNEQUIN!". Robin runs offscreen (My dream was done with one still camera shot apparently) and returns with a horrifying, mutilated, decaying corpse on a spike. Penguin screams and runs off. This cycle repeats through all the classic Batman villains. I woke up in a cold sweat.
  • Telshaw - July 26, 2014 12:37 a.m.

QOTW: The weirdest dream I ever had was also pretty great. It started off terrifying, there was some scary monster chasing me and my friends. But then once it caught me I had the smart idea to just join up with the thing and help it catch everyone else in exchange for my life. I'm not proud of what I did, but you know at least dream me lived.

Ryan you did a good job for your first time hosting, just relax and you'll be fine. I agree with Lorenzo BOOOOO on the delay for Dragon Age!!! Alright weirdest dream I ever had was I found myself at E3, I was sitting with the entire GR Crew which is impossible since alot of the previous editors are gone now. Anyway Nordic games is showing a demo and it starts off on a battlefield were piles of random demon parts are scattered and blood is everywhere as we see the horsemen War and Death killing them easily until this huge monster comes out and they can't go into Reaper mode. The song Knights of Cydona is playing when the huge beast is restrained by glowing whips and soon it's head is taken off by alot of bullets. We see the other two horsemen arrive and before they say anything, an army of creatures as charging at them and all four of them glow as they face the creatures head on and then it cuts to a black screen where you hear swords clashing, the crack of whips, guns firing, moans and howls of pain as words start to appear on the screen. The Apocolypse is finally here!! Darksiders Unleashed!!

QOTW : I once had a dream that it was my birthday and all I wanted was a steak, and the place we were at didn't have steak, and I was really pissed off about it, and when I woke up I was hungry for steak and really pissed off that we didn't have any in the house. I called my friend because this actually happened to him and told him that I was pissed off at him for having told me about it and putting that scenario in my head which I ended up dreaming about and wound up waking up hungry for steak because of it. Though really, there's no better way to sympathize with a friend denied a birthday steak than to dream about it yourself.
